What People Are Saying About Stardust

In Short – Answering the call for suburbanites starved for nightlife options, owner Reggie Benjamin attempts to recreate his former Stardust lounge that once occupied the space of Rednofive and was a fixture in the downtown Chicago scene. The swank club trades its past life as a piano warehouse, keeping size in tact (14,000 square feet) to make way for four seating areas boasting stark white "champagne booths," gold-accented bars, a big dance floor and a shining chandelier over the main bar. VIPs lounge late into the night to a soundtrack of funk, soul, 70s and 80s, acid jazz and swing.

Waste of time, money, space, oh yeah and the SEWAGE smell.

by norfsider11111 at Citysearch

Mystery dinner, put on by highschool actors in a garage. It gets pretty cold, especially when the food takes 2 hours to get. If you can categorize chicken fingers as food. Oh and what is that smell near the bar, it's raw sewage. How do they attempt to mask it? They burn 75 incense sticks. Oh and lets not forget the bartender who does the flame blowing to mask the smell as well. If you want to LEAVE, you have to get past security. Bouncer puts his arm out to block me from leaving.

Overall:

Don't go to the Mystery dinner, unless you have 4 hours to spend and want to throw $60 out the window.

Don't go for the Sewage smell near the bar.

Don't go for the lights that shine in your face constantly, very distracting.

Don't go for staff.

Don't go for $7 drinks.

Big Disappointment!

by NellieC at Citysearch

My boyfriend and I were so looking forward to finding a more upscale club in the suburbs. So we tried this one on Dec. 13th. It's decorated very nicely with a cool atmoshpere BUT that's the only good thing. Staff was rude, especially the bouncers. The waitress was very friendly and she was the staff person who was. The dancers looked bored and danced the way they felt. The DJ was terrible, totally disengaged with what he was doing and barely anyone was dancing, even late into the night. And concrete floors are always awful to stand or dance on. Wouldn't mind paying the cover charge or even the drink prices if everything inside was better. Also when you leave you have to go down this totally dark hallway and out another door, not pleasant at all. Won't be going back to this one I'm afraid.

  • Pros: Cool atmosphere, could be great if everything else worked well
  • Cons: Almost everything, coat check girl was especially not a happy employee

WORST CLUB IN THE WORLD

by Janetandfriends at Citysearch

I entered the club thinking this is going to be a great place. The staff was ignorant and rude. All my girls had to pay cover charge to walk in on my B-day. Yes the place was HUGE but Dead their was nobody their. Lucky I had people with me to enjoy the 1 hour we spent there. Thats not all we spent, the alcohol prices are outrageous. This acutually felt like High way robbery. On my way to the bathroom I had seen a /\/\ouse ran in the dark room that is in the back. when I came out I had told my friends I want to leave they agreed they had said they seen R0AC}{ES behind the bar area. As I complained to the hostess she said "my boss is reggie and he will take care of you hold on let me get him for you" we waited a half hour while he was flirting with some asian girl. we left after the wait and head go a near by bar. THIS PLACES IS GARBAGE AND THE FOOD IS NASTY DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND YOUR MONEY. DONT COME TO THIS CLUB ITS NOT WORTH IT TRUST ME!!!!!!

  • Pros: NONE
  • Cons: everything from facility, staff, enviroment, service and quality
