Tips for Marbles The Brain Store

October 19, 2012

Having been a Marbles store customers since the beginning, my kids and I were happy --even excited -- to go to your recent warehouse sale. That is, until we got our purchases home. We were quite disappointed to find several of the "sample" games purchased were missing pieces.

Although I assumed we'd need to do some clean-up on something marked "sample," I never would have thought Marbles would be selling incomplete sets -- making the purchase basically worthless. And no one in our family recalls seeing any "as is" signage alerting us that sets might be incomplete.

Ever try explaining to an 8-year old why they can't actually play the game they selected?

really cool, smart new store. Great store!! I have bought a bunch of presents there already. I bought some memory games for my grandma, and the staff was really helpful at picking out stuff that she would be able to do. I also bought a software system for my parents, which they said has helped already. I really like that everything is backed up by quotes and info from scientists. Also, you can buy stuff for kids, but it is not really a toy store, so don't go expecting it to be one.

Don't lose your marbles. Marbles is a fantastic place to shop, or even just to spend an afternoon hanging out and playing one of the store's many addictive "brain games". Prices are very reasonable and the store should be a pretty big success with all us cash-strapped shoppers this holiday season. Marbles attracts an interesting mix of locals and tourists with its friendly staff and unusual mix of products. Overall, the store is a unique, quirky addition to an area of town mainly filled with the upscale national chains found in every major city. Highly recommended.

A Great Suprise!. Marbles is like no store I've ever seen (or even heard of). A great break from typical game and book stores, Marble's products have a purpose! You can pull any game off of the shelf and try it out on the spot- and the employees encourage you to do so. (Finally a store that makes sure you're going to like the game before you bring it home.) It's refreshing to play games that make you think and see products that promote brain power.

Best new retail concept in Chicago. This is such a cool store. It is definitely worth checking out!

They sell lots of of books, games, software and puzzles for brain health. There are tables all around the store with games on display so you can try them first. The people are all really nice and know what they are talking about.

I did all my shopping for the holidays here - there was something for everyone and it didn't break the bank!

I've been telling all my friends about Marbles.

Brain coaches--not salespeople--help select intellect-boosting games and toys at this all-ages River North shop.. In Short
Kids and kids at heart wind through this roomy store, checking out mind-bending toys along the way. Emphasizing everything from visual perception to word skills, coordination, memory and critical thinking, shoppers are teased with puzzles, picture mazes, Chinese checkers and chess sets tucked into shelves and displayed on tables. Labyrinth games, Rubik's Cubes and tangle "therapy"--that is to say, coiled, ergonomic, interconnected links--help to stimulate the mind and relieve stress.
