What People Are Saying About Fontana Grill

In Short – The rich mauve-upholstered benches and dramatic, black-and-white photo-wallpaper (depicting a crumbling archway) seem almost too stylish considering the virtually derelict strip of Wilson the restaurant calls home. But chances are taken all over the place here; a mostly Italian menu of lasagna, calamari and pastas doesn't think twice about including more adventurous Bosnian fare like Cevapi, grilled, spiced beef with warm flat bread and sour cream. The wine program also pushes things, offering ounces for $1 or $2, combos for $10 and glasses and bottles. – –…
Editor's Tips
- Where to Sit:
- To the left of the dining room there is an upholstered bench against the wall. Grab it if it's available. Not only is it comfortable, it also gives the best vantage point in the house.
- BYOB:
- It's BYOB for now--once the license comes, look for that fancy wine program and expanded hours to handle the larger groups it will bring.
- The Extras:
- An outdoor patio features fountains (fontana, in Italian and Bosnian) and is the only such oasis in the neighborhood.
- Parking:
- The upside of opening a restaurant on a lonely, deserted stretch: Plenty of free parking!
- When to Go:
- Weekends are your best bet, as even with a group of loyal locals weekdays can be a little slow.

Great Wine and Fantastic Food
by Scott500 at Citysearch
It was cold the other night so I came to Fontana with a friend. We were greeted by a very nice woman, I believe her name was Brooke. She told us the specials and when we had questions on which wine to order she sent Mike over. He was great, he helped us find what wine paired with our choices of apps and dinner.
We had the grilled polenta with cevapi, calamari fritti both were amazing. I found out that the calamari is hand cut and breaded to order which made it taste so much better then I have had in other restaurants. I ordered the Organic Chicken Rollata (Delicious) My friend ordered the Eggplant Marinara and was blown away.
So to wrap up: Btl of Wine $24, Amazing Dinner $40 the great time we had... Priceless!
I will be back.

went with gf here for drinks and dinner, and were lucky enough to pick a night with half-price bottles of wine! (Tuesday) We also sampled one of the pizzas (vegeteriana) and the polenta with cevapi - all of which fresh and amazing. As others have mentioned, the service was very good and I love the large patio! maybe next time the weather will permit the use of the patio :(
- Pros: amazing food and wine :)
- Cons: none
Great Place & Great People

It is not calm but also not as hectic as most of other restaurants. Food is amazing. Most of the dishes are made from scratch. Atmosphere is also another reason I go back.
- Pros: Really good pizzas!!!!
- Cons: NONE
What the heck?

This place is disgusting. Went after a fun night on the town and was greeted with total disrespect. A new restaurant in the neighborhood with lack of all skills for success. It will be closed doors in no time. Seafood tasted like it is from the basement and has no seasoning. Absolute failure.
- Pros: Absolutely nothing including service
- Cons: Everything including servers and disrespect
