So not worth it!.
Went here for lunch buffet. The selection is very limited - green salad, chicken cacciatore, beef, bowtie with marinara, fusilli with broccoli, corn (?) and mashed potato (?) Both meat dishes were
very salty. Bottled marinara tastes better than the bowtie sauce. Cut-up bread was stale. And no dessert table.
No wonder, the restaurant is almost empty. Could be different for dinner, though.
I would never come here again.…
Great food and Wonderful Service. All I can say is this little place is out of this world. I was in town on business and we were told by the staff at the Residence Inn in Oak Brook this was the place to grab Italian, the must go to joint in the area…they were not lying as this place was one of the best, no, it is the best Italian I have had in years. My business partner and I went in on a Tuesday night and I ordered the Lasagna and was impressed by the dish, more then I could eat, but I forced down every bit as there was no way I would ever leave anything that good on a plate. The salad dressing was out of this world and the bread was wonderful. The meal was so good we went back the next night, I had the 5 fingers and Vodka sauce…let me say that – WOW!!!! and I am planning on taking my wife there next month…willing to make a 3 hour drive for this food! Keep up the great work, the staff is great and those knocking the place, I am not sure you made it into the right place…both times I had a dinner, with dessert and with tip was under $40.00 bucks…the food is WONDERFUL! On con to the place is I don’t live closer …
Best Italian in the Burbs.
I love this restaurant! My Husband and I come here often for drinks and to enjoy some live music and dancing. We recently had dinner and was blown away. The portions are huge, which isn't great for
the waist line, but the after dinner dancing helped work it off.
Love Love Love Capri!…
It was only okay.
We ate at Capri for the first time last night. When I walked in (my husband was parking the car), no one was standing at the maitre d' stand. I stood there for several minutes while two bartenders
just stared at me and never bothered to get anyone to take care of me. FInally a bus boy came by and asked if I had been taken care, to which I replied no. He got the Maitre d' to take care of me. By this point, my husband had already come in as well.
We sat down at our table and, without exaggerating, waited just shy of 10 minutes before any server came to our table. I was very aggravated by this. When our server (Nick) finally arrived, he said to me, "Can I get ya kickin' with something to drink?" What kind of a server talks like that??? In all actuality, he was a very nice young man and very personable, but he needs to work on some etiquette. He talked with MANY of his customers all evening - so much so that we waited a very long time to get our check from him and get it back to sign the credit card slip. He was a social butterfly all evening! I like a personable server, but not someone who is constantly talking to the point where we can't get service.
As far as cuisine, I ordered the 8-finger cavatelli with vodka sauce. It was excellent. I used to make this homemade as a child with my mom and grandmother, so I'm always willing to try it in restaurants to see how it compares to the homemade stuff. I was not disappointed. My husband ordered lasagna. I had a small taste and thought it was terrible. I didn't like the tomato sauce and the meat tasted like cheap hamburger meat. I ordered a glass of house wine and it was $8.00 per glass. I thought that was terribly expensive. House wines are supposed to be LESS expensive. I was unimpressed with the wine list. Everything was by the bottle except for the very limited house wine selection. I asked to see an "after dinner liqueur" list and was told by our server that they didn't have one. I'm a full-blooded Italian...we like our liqueurs. If this is a "classic Italian restaurant," there should definitely be a liqueur menu.
The final straw was when I went to the bathroom. I went into the first stall and noticed that someone had actually vomited in there and it had not been cleaned up. In all fairness, I don't know if anyone knew about this because I didn't see one female employee in the entire place. However, this is supposed to be a nice restaurant - not a college bar. That's where I would expect to see vomit in a bathroom. So, I told our server and he was very nice and apologetic. I explained to him that I was not blaming anyone, but I felt I needed to bring it to someone's attention in order to get it cleaned up. I have no idea if it was taken care of because Nick proceeded to talk to his other customers at other tables.
All in all, I was not impressed with Capri Classic Italian Restaurant and will not go back again.…
Disappointed. I was very disappointed when I finished my $80 dinner and was told that my dinningdough certificate was not valid as the management was changed and was not accepting those. They brought some printout stating that they do not accept it, which is not posted when you come in. The food was not good enough for me to come back to that place.…
