new SundayFunday spot!.
Crocodile has been my new Sunday place to go. I'm a 9-5er, but this turned out to be a good alternative to other places for a couple drinks and Great music....starts at 8pm. Every week legendary DJ JesseDeLaPeña has a themed music night or special guest DJ's and MC's. The "free" pizza is a great treat to have for every drink order (not a lot of bars do that), not sure who took care of some of the people who didn't have a good experience or were charged, but on my last 2 visits (Sunday only) the waitress has asked specifically if I wanted a free Margarita pizza with my drink.
I've been going the past 2 months, and will probably go every chance I get!
Has Its Days. I can honestly say I have never had good service at Crocodile. 8 people sitting at the bar, all with drinks, and I ended up not getting served. Two friends of the bartender noticed I was getting aggravated and they asked their friend (the bartender) if she could get me a drink. Rather than asking me what I wanted to drink, the bartender asked me If I was a friend of the man that insisted the bartender took my order: I respond "yes", she responds "No You Aren't" and walks away without getting me a drink. I Refuse to go back
good cocktails and cool atmosphere. Good, small joint. Cocktails, both speciality and regular, are really good. The bartender is attentive and friendly. Very strongly recommend it, especially for a cool weeknight local.
A New York import lures and snags a small but loyal following with a simple gimmick: Free pizza..
In Short
Storefront bars along Milwaukee are a dime a dozen, and this small space certainly doesn't win any decorating awards with stenciled foliage on bare brick, lurid green undermount lighting and subway tile. But the enthusiastic hipster crowd isn't here to judge; they're here to eat the free pizza that accompanies the affordable drinks. "Croctails" include familiar margarita and sangria-like drinks with silly names, and downstairs is a sort of intimate lounge with a DJ booth that books local talent regularly.
