Down-home Logan Square cafe sparks excitement on the plate.. Latin, French and Italian influences weave through the menu at this approachable storefront cafe with Ambria alum Cesar Casas at the helm. While the counter ordering says "casual," the menu speaks otherwise. Mainstays like burgers mingle with a secret-sauced Caribbean chicken sandwich and a Madeira steak sandwich. Snacks such as orange-apple or mango-flecked guac, coupled with a BYOB policy, prove paycheck-friendly. The unframed avant-garde paintings that line the exposed brick walls lend artsy, cup-of-Joe cred, a good thing since bean juice (plus morning sweets and evening treats) are on offer.
