Charles May's confidence helped me decide to put my tired reddish hair in his hands. His talent and expertise transformed my locks into waves of chocolate brown with honey hued highlights and what that did for me was make a new woman of me. So glad I trusted your judgment - I love the results!

Anyone can call themselves a master
hair stylist but few actually deserve the title. Charles May has an extraordinary reputation for excellence in his field and he more than lived up to the hype.
Two girlfriends and myself - all of us unhappy with the state of our hair (and our respective stylists) had heard about Charles via word of mouth and we booked in for a "hair day out" together.
It was a privilege to watch him weave his magic. We all have very different types of hair, with vastly different needs, and Charles was equally brilliant at creating a fresh, new look for each one of us
He is simply a genius with hair: cuts, color and styling. It's also a bonus that he is a lovely man who understands that no matter what your age, size, sense of personal style whether it be wild, conservative, elegant, cool - whatever - he posseses an uncanny ability to tap in and bring out the absolute best in anyone.
There aren't many hair stylists I've ever said the words, "Do exactly what you want" and trusted them. Having earlier witnessed his brilliance with my friend's hair, my intuition told me I could say those words to Charles May and not regret it. He proved me right.
This morning when I gave my hair the telling, and crucial "second day" check, I was just as pleased with it as when I when I had walked out the door having said goodbye to Charles.
Most women I know, when they find a stylist who helps you to look and feel as wonderful as he does, we tend to stick with them. I'm sticking with the fabulous Mr May.

Charles May is the bomb!.
I have had my hair cut all over the world - Sydney, Los Angeles and New York, by some of the very best. In the last 5 years I have been living in a small country town in the Mid West, and while it is wonderful I haven't been happy with my haircuts in all that time. I've tried 5 different hairdressers, and even went with out a haircut for almost a year! Then I met Charles - an angel from heaven.
What I find most exceptional is the time he took to really really look at my hair and understand what I wanted - how it grows, the lines of my head, how my hair lies, and how to repair what had been done to it. He is a true expert and a true professional with such passion for his craft.
He gave me the best hair cut I've ever had. Period. He made me feel like a beautiful gorgeous woman. That's a feeling money can't buy and one I have missed terribly for the last 5 years.
It was simply the most perfect experience. I will never let anyone else touch my hair ever again. I will drive the 300 miles every two months just to see Charles, that's how good he is. Once you've been to the best there's no turning back.

Charles May is fantastic!.
I was referred to Charles after I decided to leave my hair stylist of 10 years. Seeing someone new after so many years was not only an emotional experience, but also a little bit scary.
As soon as I met Charles, I knew I would be in good hands. He evaluated my hair, we discussed my needs and he suggested a new base color and Ombre highlights using pony tail highlighting. This results in more blended natural-looking highlights and not those very obviously defined lines. I loved the look and the haircut is divine. After he was done, I posted my new look on FB and was surprised by all the positive feedback and likes.
My hair has so much more body now and the color is awesome. He was able to keep it long with layers without it looking like the feathered look of the 80's. I am thrilled that I made the decision to call him.

Charles May @ Restoration Salon. If your looking for a professional, knowledgable, and talented stylist definitely go see Charles! I'm SUPER picky when it comes to who does my hair and I promise you you wont regret it!! I recently did the Ombre look and I LOVE it. I get compliments every single day on it. Best in Chicago if you ask me!

Charles May is EXCEPTIONAL.
I've been going to see Charles May since 1993 and have followed him wherever he moved to throughout the years because NO ONE compares to him in Chicago. He is beyond talented! He's consulted me on color/highlights, styled my hair and my bridesmaids updo's on my wedding day, given me short cuts, helped me grow out my hair to its current long length -- he's been with me literally on all of my hair adventures.
I've also had my hair cut and styled in LA and NY by "celebrity" stylists for business events and truly no one compares to Charles May. He has an uncanny ability to find the beauty of each woman he is working with and he brings great knowledge of the top trends in hair, best new products and ways to protect your hair. He is humble, flexible, kind and someone I would recommend to anyone seeking a refreshed or totally new style, a blowout or a new color/highlights. Charles May is truly the best hair stylist in the city.

Great salon, Charles is the BEST!. Charles May is the BEST (for blow outs, color, cut, you name it)! I have shorter hair (sits just above my shoulders) that's fine, so it's always hard for me to get good volume that lasts. Enter Charles May. Not only did he style my hair with a rockin' blow out, but it lasted ALL DAY and night. And to top it off, my hair didn't even look 'producty'. He's a pro at working the round brush for any look/hair type. He gave me great tips and how-tos for doing it myself, too, which i appreciated. He is a great guy, friendly and made me super comfortable. I take my relationship with my hair person very seriously and can't wait to go in for a trim and color! Highly reccomend.

Best in the city. If you want to look like a model/movie star, look no further. Charles May is the man. He is so talented and knows how to work with all types of hair -- from curly to straight and thick to thin. He is beyond talented.

Charles May - LOVE LOVE LOVE. Charles May is amazing! He styled my hair, but have me tips for cuts and coloring during the entire thing. I can't wait to go back for a cut. My hair has never had this much body - it's usually flat. Loved it! Loved him.

Charles is the best!. Charles did my hair for a headline shoot at work and I couldn't have loved my hair, or him!, more!! He is extremely professional, very friendly and super fun.
