Insider Tips
The ExtrasThe "pass arounds" are free extras brought around by servers to anyone who orders from the menu. These extras range from fried okra to macaroni and tomatoes.
Fun FactThe tradition of Lambert's "throwed rolls" was born in 1976. On a busy day, owner Norman Lambert was unable to get through the crowd to pass out rolls. When an exasperated customer ordered him to throw it, a tradition was born.

Lamberts is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY overrated. 30 years ago when they wre a small town diner, they were pretty good, but not great. But now you can expect to wait in line for an hour, get herded into a warehouse sized room with a zillion people, have food thrown at you, and experience rural Missouri in the same way that going to a Disneyland castle gives you an authentic European experience. If you want home cooking, there are dozens of great restauranstin Sikeston and surrounding towns. Skip Lamberts and go to a REAL restaurant
Pros: fried okra, biscuits
Cons: hassle, price, ambience

For those who are not aware, Sikeston is located exactly 150 miles south of St Louis and north of Memphis. Kinda right in the middle of I-55. If you go away from Lambert's hungry, it's your own fault. In addition to the menu items (everything from steak to fried chicken to hog jowls), you get basically all-you-can eat rolls and side dishes such as fried okra and black eyed peas. You have to catch the rolls though, sometimes coming from clear across the other side of the room. While you're waiting in line, take a look at a few of "ol' Norm's" Missouri mule pictures. The place is a trip!
Pros: great food, real southern cookin, roll catching
Cons: , its almost all fried, a roll hitting you
