Driver Lost it in front of Hotel. One of the drivers pulled up beside another taxi that i was getting into and started calling the driver the "N" word. He wanted the fare and accused the driver of the taxi i was getting into of cutting him off. Like i would have gotten into his taxi after he showed himself. It was so bad the doorman of the hotel started shaking his head and waving him on. I will never get in one. The next time i am in Chicago i will only get in Yellow cabs period. I wish i had read the reviews before i went to Chicago.
Thieves. Lets put it this way. If it weren't for the cops I wouldn't have gotten my wallet back either, though they let that MF get away with my I phone and car keys on Harrison yesterday. I'm seriously considering filing a small claims suit. Never do business with these people.
Stay Away...Scammers!!!!. This company overcharged my husband on a trip from the Airport. They claimed they had to charge 1 1/2 times the fee for a trip from O'Hare to Naperville. So not the way...it is typically a $45 fare. They are scammers!!! Stay out of their cabs!!!

This man is terrible, smoking in the cab, scary and threatening looking, he robbed me. I've seen him before and heard other people complain about him. He should not be allowed to drive a taxi.
Why do you people let him keep driving after there have been other complaints about him?

Unreliable. Needed a cab Saturday afternoon at about 3:45 pm. Called and was told 10-30; but I still asked them upfront if they were sure they would be able to fill my order within that time frame. By the way I was on Harlem Avenue right off the Kennedy so I figured cabs coming and going to Ohare would be available for this order and I was going to a destination near the Kennedy and Lawrence so they could turn around and head back to O'Hare in 15 mintues. Well an hour and five minutes later I finally get a cab. Sorry.......... but on a beautiful Saturday afternoon (not a busy weekday) a cab company ought to be able to fill an order on north Harlem Avenue near the Kennedy Expressway. I guess they only want cabs picking up people at O'Hare for bigger fares. I take cabs downtown a lot. You can be sure I will not call them to service me on these larger fares, since I can't tolerate unreliable service from any business or industry. If the they had said 45 minutes that would have been different; not to mention more honest.
Boycott American Cab Company - They Are Thieves - Credit Card Fraud. American Cab Company charged my friend for 3 alledged trips within one week of each other. The total amount of charges is over $2000.00 and AMEX is questioning the claim because supposedly his credit card was presented at the time of each transaction. He has proof of being elsewhere all 3 times.
Avoid if you want Reliable Service!. I used to use this cab company for business by calling the night before to schedule early AM pickups for trips to the airport. For the first five or so times that I used this company, they showed up promptly (at or before the scheduled time). However, I noticed things starting to slip with their service when one time they were about 10 minutes late (by then I was getting nervous and a call to customer service assured me a cab was on its way). This should have been a warning, for the next time I used this cab company, I scheduled a pickup the night before and they never showed up the next morning!! This was a complete disaster since I had a flight to catch. They did call (five minutes after the scheduled pickup time) to say they were unable to provide me with a cab. What kind of service is this?? Why even offer a reservation system if you can't deliver?? I had to drag my luggage through snow to a busy intersection and then spend 30 minutes of precious time hailing a cab on my own. Never again will I call this cab company for a reservation. Horrible service!!
