Love this place. I live in the neighborhood and have been coming here for years!! Can't make it in as much as we used to but we still order pizza from them every friday. So good!! We always go with the thin crust, extra sauce, half sausage, half pepperoni. This place is a must try if your looking for a tasty and quick, cheap bite, along with a very reasonably priced extremely strong cocktail;) Not many places you can say that about anymore, at least not in west town. Too many trendy spots we watch open and close around us within a year of opening because they just can't make it. Salerno's has been around for about 30 years now so it seems like their here to stay. Try it you won't regret it =)

Bad Service/Bad Attitude. We have on many occassions ordered from the Grand Ave. location. Every Single Time....Something gets screwed up. I called to complain. He told me they have never in 45 years received a complaint and...Not to call there anymore because I had a bad attitude. Not a Problem. None of us will ever order from them again.

I only give 1 star here because this blog won't accept the review without the rating!

Not as good as the Mt. Prospect / Des Plaines Salerno's. Went to this Salerno's after having a great dining experience at the Salerno's in the Mt. Prospect / Des Plaines area, where the menu is very reasonably priced, the service is good, and the food is exceptional. However, the Grand Ave restaurant doesn't compare. The prices do not match what is on their website, they are much higher; the manager doesn't know how much the food costs in the restaurant he manages; and the service was terrible even though the restaurant wasn't at all busy on the Friday evening that we went. I had called ahead of time to find out how much the Chicken Ala Salerno was and was told $9.95, when in fact it was $13.95. I had a beef sandwich and it was nothing to brag about or go back for. My husband had the Chicken Ala Salerno and he said it was good. My daughter had the pizza and she said it was just as good as others. I probably would not go back to this one and will just stick to the one in Mt. Prospect. I do have to say that the decor at Grand Ave is very, very nice.

JUST GREAT FOOD. We stopped in this past Friday around 7pm. Place was recommended by a relative since we just moved into the neighborhood. Considering we used to live in Little Italy saying this place has some of the best Italian food we have ever eaten is an understatement. The service was extremely friendly. There was no wait for a table. We were excited to find out that they offer Trivia every other Thursday night. We ordered a baby sized thick crust "famous" pizza for an appetizer and two sausage entrees, next time we will only order one entree as the portions are HUGE! We will definitely go back.

My New Favorite. A friend introducted me a couple of months back and I have visited many times since. I have gone a different times and days, both week days and weekends. The service is wonderful, the food is the best. I am not a big pizza eater but I will have this one any time. The pasta's are really great too.

Best Italian home cooking!. Regulary crust pizza is full of toppings, flavor and just the right amount of cheese and sauce. The entrees are reals Italian home cooking - BIG portions - comfort food. The service is friendly. The atmosphere is welcoming. We have also ordered out - both pizza and entrees - they are always hot, and the same excellent quality as if eating-in.

wonderful. Leave it to the historic grand street italian family to make a fantastic thin crust hand tossed pizza!

The crust is crunchy, the sauce is just the right sweetness, and the cheese is melty just like in a ninja turtle cartoon, the image I've been comparing pizza to for my entire life.

Best Pizza in Chi-Town!. Best pizza I have ever tasted! Beats all the top pizza joints in Chicago. Service is superb as always! Same great people have worked there since the first day I walked in. The perfect place for large groups or an intimate dinner. Too tired to go out....order one up for delivery. Either way...Salerno's is definitely worth a try!

disappointed. Service was average. Our order was lost or delayed due to other regular guests receiveing special treatment . Restuarant management offered no reason for th long delay. Pizza was average. Veal was editable but sauce was to sweet. Overall not a happy dining experience with out of town guests.
