In Short – For Cubs fans, this River North tavern and grill comes close to institution status. A veritable sports museum crammed with photos, artwork and autographed bats and balls, the restaurant churns out above-average food in a clubby steakhouse setting, but remains casual enough for tourists to stroll in from the street wearing shorts and t-shirts. Time-tested dishes are house specialties, from the Dutchie's salad, a tasty tribute to Harry's wife brimming with baby greens, apples, pears, toasted walnuts and Gorgonzola to a juicy, garlicky Chicken Vesuvio paired with roasted…
Editor's Tips
- Where to Sit:
- Cub fans clamor to sit at table 70 in the front corner (Harry's favorite), which boasts a great view of the entire room. However, keep in mind that the table is reserved for parties of 5-6 guests.
- Fun Fact:
- The infamous Steve Bartman baseball, which was purchased for more than $113,000, (Bartman was deemed Public Enemy No. 1 after catching a foul bowl during Game 6 of the National League Championship Series in 2003, an event many blame for preventing the Cubs from moving on to the World Series.) was detonated here on live TV.

Great time

My first time visiting Harry Caray's was five years ago, for my best friends birthday dinner. The whole night we couldn't stop talking about how great the food was and how much we loved it there. I came back a month later with my family, and they loved it just as much. I've been back at least fifteen times since then, and have never had a single bad expierience.
- Pros: A Total Crowd pleaser
- Cons: crowded

One of my favorite places to go in Chicago. Anyone going to Harry Caray's soon should try the new burger bar. Best burgers in town!
Harry Carays Italian Steak House HOLY COW an under statement
by Big Sky VIP at Citysearch
WOW HOLY COW! Describes Harry Caray's Italian Steak House from the moment we walked in to the minute we walked out! While waiting the mere couple of minutes before we were seated, we took in all the pictures and memorabilia on the walls. We took what I would call the mandatory picture with Harry at the entrance. Once seated our server Josh was right there. We started off with a drink and one of the best Crab cakes I have had in a while! We had picked out our dinner before Josh did the Steak Presentation which took us on a completely different course. We covered the menu from Cedar Salmon, Italian Pork Chops, Bone in Ribeye to Deb's ginormous Lobster tail. Every last bite cooked to perfection and the double baked potatoe was so large it feed 2 of us! Being in the VIP Concierge business we go to all the top restaurant to taste for ourselves, so were are rather picky as we know our clients are. Harry Caray's Italian Steak House was 5 Stars to say the least. The Keylime pie and the guys singing a great birthday tune appropriate for Harry Caray's for Deborah's Big B-Day made the night! Also A BIG Thank You City Search for steering us to this wonderful dining adventure!
- Pros: Great Location~Awesome Service~Diverse Palet Pleasing Menu
- Cons: I couldn't eat another bite!
