The Scene – Pool tables and a vast array of TVs make it a great place to gather for a game. Mother Hubbard's subscribes to pretty much all the satellite sports feeds, so if you want to watch a particular game, this is the place to come. It's usually on the quiet side in the late afternoon and early evening when Loop and River North workers stop by for a belt on the way home. Later, it can get a tad rowdy with fans rooting on their favorite teams. – – The Draw – Mother Hubbard's offers burgers, chicken sandwiches, Mexican food, pizza, ribs and other fare to complement…

Still the Best after all these years
by chicago jr
Been going to Mother Hubbards Sports Pub for almost 20 years. Lots of new joints but they don't SPeak Sports like Mother Hubbards. Their Sports Nickname quizzes are fun and they show every out of market game and even soccer .
Coach Smart and his staff were in there scouting the NCAA field the day before they played Georgetown.
Love the stuffed burgers & jumbo size wings.
Mother Hubbards Sports Pub is a pioneer and a classic.

This place is directly between US Celluar and Wrigley, so both Sox and Cubbies fan can eat and enjoy the place. BEST french onion soup you can ever ask for! Service is fantastic. If you have a particular game you want to watch, they will take care of you and put it up.
- Pros: Sports stuff
- Cons: Cubs stuff
$4.50 for a PBR...Are you kidding me?
by cyclechicago
Now please know that I like this place to a large degree...Friendly waitstaff/bartenders, but come on! Smithwich's for $5.50 is a bit steep, but understandable. So my next beer is a local brew - Goose Island's Honker's Ale - also $5.50. So I just wanted to see what the PBR would be...$4.50 and it is in a can. I visited on a Monday night and wasn't that busy all around. The food is average at best and I will have a hard time returning on a regular basis.
- Pros: cold beer, friendly staff, good selection
- Cons: are you kidding...Prices in Chicago on a quite Monday night should at least be a draw.
I had a beer with Ben Rothesberger at Mother Hubbards
by jjrprime
Revisited this place on a Thursday,Jan 25th, for their stuffed burger and ran into 4 Pittsburgh Steelers chowing down on Wings and shooting some pool. I actually had a beer and conversation with BIG Ben Rothesberger.
They hung around for about 2 hours. So did I,of course.
Oh, and the Burger was great.
Will be back next trip.
- Pros: Middle of Jan and 4 Steelers in the place
- Cons: gets crowded on game days- not much free parking
