Good Food but got screwed!!. i just now came from there and got a screwing on my meal. they didnt have the ribeye on the menu, said that had quit serving it. i was getting ready to order the new york strip which is always a little more expensive than a ribeye and the waitress told us that they did have the ribeye. i thought that was great!! my steak come and it was alright, not as good as last time i had eaten there, alot of fat on it but i didnt complain. then they brought my bill and the steak was 37.00, thought it was a mistake and asked the waitress and she said it was so expensive because it was there specialty!! the new york strip was 25.00 so i guess the ribeye was special because it was so dang expensive!! i wont be back for my next chicago trip!!!!

Great food, Great atmosphere. You want an awesome steak? This is the place. I was just there with my fiancee and some relatives and friends and we had a great time. The steak was to delicious. I got the skirt steak. My fiancee got the pulled pork and that was really good too. They did mess up on my friends order giving her something different but they were very apologetic and fixed the problem quickly. Other than that it was a great dining experience.

Great chili and chicken!!. I have been numerous times to Weber Grill, not only at the State St location, but in the burbs. The food is consistently excellent(I would highly recommend the chili and the beercan chicken) to anyone. The place does get busy, but the staff gets you seated quickly. Definitely make this a next place to eat!!

great place for burnt filet. Our server was fantastic, but the food was terrible. I got the filet medium to medium rare, which was good, but I could literally taste the burn of the grill marks on my steak. It's a shame...seemed like such a quality piece of meat, but then you burn it and completely ruin the flavor. There have got to be better steak places in Chicago.

It was actually my second time there, so shame on me. I remember not being all that impressed the first time either.

Crowded as hell. I visited the Weber Grill the week of NeoCon, which was probably the reason why it was so crowded... the servers could not get through the crowd by the door and in the bar. I was dining alone, and while the wait was only 30-40 minutes (which surprised me) I was able to find a table in the bar instead. The server was very competent, friendly, and fast despite the crowd. However the food wasn't that great. The garlic mashed potatoes were probably the best I've ever had, but the teriyaki salmon was absolutely drowned in sauce. The only reason I knew I was eating fish was the flakiness of the meat. I couldn't taste anything beyond the teriyaki. The key lime cheesecake is served not in slices, but in SLABS, and it isn't really very good. I might still visit here again to try something else on the menu.

Worst service of my entire life.. We had lunch service for 12 on Sunday and it was the worst service and food that I've ever experienced. Here's an overview:

11:30 AM - Group seated, appetizer and drink orders taken by waiter.

11:50 AM - Drinks served, when asked about placing the entree order, we were told that he was not our waiter.

12:00 PM - A diner from our party sought out a waiter to take our entree order.

12:10 PM - Entree order taken and appetizers served, more drinks were requested.

12:30 PM - We asked for a manager, we told her of the problems, she said she'd look into it. She came back and told us that the waiter that took our food order was now assigned to our table.

12:50 PM - Entrees were still not served, I sought out the same manager and asked about the food order, she told me that we were the "next ticket out."

1:00 PM - I sought out the manager again and asked to speak to her manager. Her manager told us that the host station sat us in a section that did not have waiters and that's why we had the service issues.

1:15 PM - When the waiter brought the check, i noticed that we were being charged a 18% gratuity due to our party size. Since we received such poor service, I asked the waiter to take the forced gratuity off of the bill. He argued with me and said "It's not my fault, it was the host station." I told him that I wanted to see the manager again.

1:20 PM - When the waiter did not return, I went to the host station to find our check and saw the waiter and the manager arguing over the bill. When we got the bill, the manager said she would offer us gift cards, but she knew that we could take that as an insult and assumed we were not planning on coming back to the restaurant.

With regards to the food, the hamburgers were not properly cooked (one was requested as well and came out as medium, it needed to be sent back) and did not have any grilled flavor. Also, the New York Strip salad basically tasted like cold roast beef on a bed of lettuce.

Weak even for corporate food. I went on a week night with a friend, and was seated quickly with prompt service. Both of us ordered the baby back ribs, and both thought they were over cooked. The meat was dry what you got if it because the slab was small with little meat on it. The rest was tough and chewy overcooked. The sides of cornbread and baked beans were very good. It was not so terrible that I would not go gain, but maybe I'll order an over seasoned steak next time.

Two thumbs up!. I would reccommend going to the Weber Grill, if you want a relaxing place to eat and have good food. The service was great right from the very start. Our waiter had to leave as his shift was ending, but he saw our food come up and brought it to our table all while he had his coat on ready to go. He wanted to make sure we were taken care of, which was a really nice gesture. He was friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was amazing, I had the sampler which was a great choice asit gave me a little bit of everything. There was shrimp, beer can chicken strips, steak skewers, ribs and onion curls. It was fun to eat and it tasted great. Also before our meal they brought out amazing preztel like rolls that I have never seen anywhere else. So, if you love bread you have to try those as well. So, if you are ever in the area, this place is a must to try!

Incredible food, great people, cozy atmosphere.. My experience at Weber Grill was fantasitc and unforgettable;from the food to the extremely helpful and friendly staff. I had heard a lot of good feedback from my friends and I wanted to see what all the hoot was about. I walked in and was instantly greeted with a smile and a very genuine hello (not like the forced greetings I've experienced elsewhere). While my husband and I waited to be seated we grabbed a drink at the bar and Mike took care of us. It was like him and my husband had known eachother for years;he was that friendly and sociable (very refreshing) We were seated 7 minutes before our estimated wait time (20-30 mn). Even the host, a very nice gentlemen, actually asked how I was doin, a very small but never forgotten gesture. The atmosphere was cozy and we were seated near one of their fireplaces. I was told by our server that there are two cozy firelplaces in the restaurant (so if you want to sit by one of those either sit waaay toward the back of the restaurant, or sit in the "grill room", which is to your right when you walk in. My server was amazing and very knowledgable about the food, I never got a "ummm, let me check Im not sure" about the menu. Everything was thorough. The food was delicious. My husband and I had the Weber Sampler to start, he had the blackened-boneless rib eye and i had the meatlof. You might ask why meatloaf, but it was highly recommended and I had to try it.Its unlike any meatloaf Ive ever had. You can really taste the grill flavor and the barbeque bourban baked beans that come with it are to die for. Chocolate Bundt cake was our dessert and it tasted like heaven. Overall, the experience was wonderful. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Its not uptight but its certainly not your run of the mill burger joint. I saw a lot of families diniing there so if anyone is worried about finding a place DOWN TOWN where the whole family can come, you might want to consider Weber Grill. EVERYONE should dine at Weber Grill!

go for the baby back. i went here based on a foodie friend's recommendation and was told there would be excellent meat to be had.

so, i braved the whipping winds of and snow flurries falling on chicago on this cold winter day.

the service was friendly and prompt. good sign. didn't like the smoking inside but this should not be an issue come january 1, 2008 when the state's ban on smoking inside restaurants and bars takes effect.

i had a combo meal: pulled pork over white bread and baby back ribs. the combo also came with cornbread, beans and slaw. i paired it with the woop woop shiraz.

the baby back ribs was very good. i enjoyed the smokey goodness and it was very lean and meaty. it did not fall off the bone but it was pretty damn yummy. the bbq sauce also had a nice tanginess.

the pulled pork, on the other hand, was disappointing. i guess i expected more -- it wasn't warm enough, and it also was not so tender.

the beans - i am really not a fan of beans but this was good. apparently, it's got jim beam bourbon.

the coleslaw -- this was more pickled tasting. i am glad it was not drenched in mayo, like most slaws.

i enjoyed the cornbread. it was moist, sweet and came in a generous portion. i was very happy with the cornbread.

the shiraz went well with the meat.

overall, this place is good. it could have been loads better but for the pulled pork. i expected to be blown away. oh well.
