“comfortable place for guys”
“The offer of a glass of wine to sit, relax further and get our minds back on the rest of our evening together was perfect.”
“After our great, relaxing massages we were escorted back together to join up for a glass of wine alone, and then afterward we headed across the street to a great Italian restaurant for a romantic dinner.”
“Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be back.”
“The staff was friendly and efficient.”
“Excellent services, reasonable prices”
“90 minute massage - fantastic massage - had David I believe.”
I received a gift certificate for Sir Spa, after 6-months the owners decided to nullify all outstanding gift certificates, accepting only 50% of the face value. I argued with the staff, but the attitude was "tough luck, take it or leave it"!
I went ahead & used the remainder of my certificate and the place was a disappointment: filthy carpeting, mildew in showers, tattered robes.
There are Quality spas all over Chicago - skip this one!
This place is a rip off, Do not waste your time. I went today with a gift certificate & was not honor the full amount, I was told of ,new ownership in April. So why were we not informed? from April until Now? no advance warning. This establishment was a gay spa, then that was not so popular, so then they hired females, I guess to get straight men, that did not work, now the old owners sold out & we got this new crap. During this recession, you would think that a business that is struggling would be glad to welcome new & old guest. They do not..There are other independent licensed therapist who are much better & much cheaper.. $400.00 fricken gift certificates down the drain..
Do not waste your time, Find another massage therapist. I went to Sir Spa this past Sunday for just a 60 min. sports massage, I did not know of the new owner situation & the customer service mess they have gotton themselves into. I met a friend of mind who had canceled because of the Gift Cert. crap[ they will not honor pasted today or what i heard only redeemed 1/2 the value. Many were angry outside on Clark st. some used the smart phone & made appointments to Energize Sports Mssage or other massage therapist in Andersonville which I should have done. The massage was not a full 60 min. and the therapist was more busy trying to sell me product of sir spa and not focusing on the sports massage. Over rated, over priced, wanna be therapist,,In short, the place was empty, Sir Spa is not the same, and I predict many will stay away & boycott this place & this dump will close in due time. There are other therapist in the area who appreicate their regular clients.
Horrible Customer Service. Watch out for this joint! On October 15, the new owners sent an email blast to their existing customers stating that gift cards would expire by October 17 and everyone should book appointments ASAP. I called to book an appointment for a facial because I had a gift card from several years ago that I had not used. It was for a specific service they no longer offered, not a dollar amount. The receptionist stated that he would have to go through some older records to find the purchase price, but if there was a big discrepancy between the value of my gift card and the service that I booked that he would call me back. I didn
Top Notch!. I have been to Sir Spa a few times since it opened as I live near by and felt compelled to give them kudos for creating such a great place for guys. My last massage with Lucas was fantastic - really strong and deep pressure, the way I like it. Also received a facial from Michele who was great - told me all about what I should be doing, in a good way, and made me look good. The space is bar-none to any other spa in Chicago, no comparison for what spas set aside for men elsewhere. Really nice locker room with cool showers. I appreciate the staff who always focuses on letting me relax for as long as I want there. Highly recommend.
Impressed - great "date night" with my bf. I felt compelled to give Sir Spa a 5 star rating as my boyfriend and I recently went there last weekend for their "date night" package. After our great, relaxing massages we were escorted back together to join up for a glass of wine alone, and then afterward we headed across the street to a great Italian restaurant for a romantic dinner. Forget dinner and a movie - dinner and a massage was great! The spa is huge, and very nice. Although it's created for men, I felt great in my own treatment room with its own shower. Loved the decor and incredible rain drenching showers. The staff was so helpful and nice, setting up our dinner reservations and all for that evening. We will definitely be back together and now I know what to get my guy friends for birthday gifts coming up - men really dig this spa and I can see why. Highly recommend!
Nothing More than the Modern Decor to WOW you!. I have been getting pedicures for several years now at a fantastic salon on Lincoln avenue in Ravenswood with welcoming friendly cheerful faces who cared about your visit. The person that did my pedicures moved on and I decided to try Sir Spa booking a pedicure and manicure. What a mistake! Entering the salon I was impressed and felt reassured by the decor. Well that did not last. Reception was cold and icy. No smiles and no cheerful faces. And the pedicurist was not very friendly nor really interested in her job or customer. Was I at the DMV? The web site claims 45 minutes pedicure and 30 minutes manicure each. I was finished in about an hour. My fingers looked OK but at $25 dollars way overpriced. Save your cash do them yourself. My wife pays $21 at this other salon and she gets polish! Men's manicures should be about $10 certainly no more than $15. And remember this is not the Gold Coast. The pedicure was better at $45 but the day following I noticed two small cuts on my toes. That has never happened. I had also taken an introductory coupon from their website which I presented when paying. They pointed out that it was only good for Sunday-Friday. I missed that print. But they with their unhappy unsmiling faces did not say "Sorry, sir" or bothered to make an exception for a first time customer so I payed the full price of $70. Unless their massages are magical I won't return nor would recommended.
This spa made my day!.
Screwed over by American Airlines, I arrived in Chicago for my week-end of debauchery with old pals at 7:40 am rather than the 7:00 pm arrival that I paid for (that's another story though) - I had a whole day to myself, the weather was marginal at best... "ah", I thought, "perfect day to detox before the week-end of retox." My Chicago friend told me to call Sir Spa - I called and made a reservation for the Soveirgn Package.
So, here's how I break it down - great facial - a true facial designed for the needs of men, rather than a woman's facial cleverly called 'THE GENTLEMAN'S FACIAL" - hot towels to sooth the stress of razor burn, masculine scented products... it's all good, it's all perfect.
90 minute massage - fantastic massage - had David I believe. Totally relaxing.
The hand/foot detail - I walked into the cool room upstairs where they do nail services for guys. The woman did a great job and I would definitely go back.
The locker room amenities were very nice, steam, waterfall shower... all of the wonderful MEN'S (not women's that man can use) products available for trial... great selction - class act!
Recommending to all of my friends in Chicago that haven't been yet, as well as my friends that travel to the city on business. The front desk staff takes care of you and I haven't seen another place like this ever before. Highly recommend!
Talented Massage Therapists.
I first went about a year ago and and been back every month to relax and de-stress. The staff are very friendly and professional. The spa itself is top notch with excecutive faciliates -- wood lockers, steam room and amazing showers.
I have tried many different massages therapists over the time I have been going. The massages have ranged from fantastic to mind-blowing. I highly recommend Piotor or Lucas for deep tissue massage.
All in all, this place is excellent and I always look forward to going back and have recommneded to several friends who have also had great experiences.
VERY EXPENSIVE FOR THE EXPERIENCE.. I ave tried this place a few times...I really wanted to like it....The place itself is nice however; the service is seriously the worst I have ever had. The owners (I found out later) were extremely rude and unhelpful. I was asking questions about services and it was a big bother. I have been to another spa on Halsted but this is closer to my house in Andersonville. NEVER AGAIN! When it was time for my massage my therapist was clearly a smoker and smelled awful! I tried to give it another shot but to my dismay. For $100 I expect a certain level of professionalism and they didn't even come close.
