This place is a rip off, Do not waste your time

I went today with a gift certificate & was not honor the full amount, I was told of ,new ownership in April. So why were we not informed? from April until Now? no advance warning. This establishment was a gay spa, then that was not so popular, so then they hired females, I guess to get straight men, that did not work, now the old owners sold out & we got this new crap. During this recession, you would think that a business that is struggling would be glad to welcome new & old guest. They do not..There are other independent licensed therapist who are much better & much cheaper.. $400.00 fricken gift certificates down the drain..

Do not waste your time, Find another massage therapist

I went to Sir Spa this past Sunday for just a 60 min. sports massage, I did not know of the new owner situation & the customer service mess they have gotton themselves into. I met a friend of mind who had canceled because of the Gift Cert. crap[ they will not honor pasted today or what i heard only redeemed 1/2 the value. Many were angry outside on Clark st. some used the smart phone & made appointments to Energize Sports Mssage or other massage therapist in Andersonville which I should have done. The massage was not a full 60 min. and the therapist was more busy trying to sell me product of sir spa and not focusing on the sports massage. Over rated, over priced, wanna be therapist,,In short, the place was empty, Sir Spa is not the same, and I predict many will stay away & boycott this place & this dump will close in due time. There are other therapist in the area who appreicate their regular clients.

Horrible Customer Service

Watch out for this joint! On October 15, the new owners sent an email blast to their existing customers stating that gift cards would expire by October 17 and everyone should book appointments ASAP. I called to book an appointment for a facial because I had a gift card from several years ago that I had not used. It was for a specific service they no longer offered, not a dollar amount. The receptionist stated that he would have to go through some older records to find the purchase price, but if there was a big discrepancy between the value of my gift card and the service that I booked that he would call me back. I didn’t get a phone call so I assumed all was well. Of course, it wasn’t. I arrived early for my appointment and checked in, handing the receptionist my gift certificate. I waited for my appointment time and received a 30 minute facial that was supposed to have lasted an hour. I inquired at the desk as I was checking out, and they told me that my gift card had already been redeemed for another service four years prior. They failed to call me back as they promised the day prior, nor did they say anything about it when I arrived for my appointment. They then wanted to charge me for the full hour service even though it only took 30 minutes. They initially offered to deduct $20 from the price. After several minutes of arguing about the horrendous customer service and their poor record keeping, they finally comped the entire service. I tipped the esthetician and vowed that I’d never be back. Epic fail!

Top Notch!

I have been to Sir Spa a few times since it opened as I live near by and felt compelled to give them kudos for creating such a great place for guys. My last massage with Lucas was fantastic - really strong and deep pressure, the way I like it. Also received a facial from Michele who was great - told me all about what I should be doing, in a good way, and made me look good. The space is bar-none to any other spa in Chicago, no comparison for what spas set aside for men elsewhere. Really nice locker room with cool showers. I appreciate the staff who always focuses on letting me relax for as long as I want there. Highly recommend.

• Pros: good massage therapists and really nice space
• Cons: hard to get in on weekends last minute

Impressed - great "date night" with my bf

I felt compelled to give Sir Spa a 5 star rating as my boyfriend and I recently went there last weekend for their "date night" package. After our great, relaxing massages we were escorted back together to join up for a glass of wine alone, and then afterward we headed across the street to a great Italian restaurant for a romantic dinner. Forget dinner and a movie - dinner and a massage was great! The spa is huge, and very nice. Although it's created for men, I felt great in my own treatment room with its own shower. Loved the decor and incredible rain drenching showers. The staff was so helpful and nice, setting up our dinner reservations and all for that evening. We will definitely be back together and now I know what to get my guy friends for birthday gifts coming up - men really dig this spa and I can see why. Highly recommend!
