Last night I hosted a 40th surprise birthday celebration for my husband in the beer garden. We received outstanding service from the staff. The manager on duty, Natalie, was instrumental in helping to facilitate the surprise, assure that we were located in the perfect section for our guests, and continually checked on us throughout the evening. I have hosted many private events across the city (i.e. W Hotel, Nine, Rock Bottom Brewery, Maggiano's, Mercadito's, and Gilt Bar- to name a few). Natalie was, by far, the most involved and thorough manager I have ever worked with on an event. Nikki, our server, was a doll. She was efficient and personable.

All of our guests commented that Market's beer garden was one of the best venues they have been to for a party and the food was wonderful.

Good choice for a casual party with friends. Market has nice plasma TVs on the wall, and lots of younger people as well as families keep the place lively. The bar attracts young singles and cotton candy attracts the children. Service was great, and the dishes were good but nothing was outstanding.

We started with the hat trick tartare, brooklyn rolls and mac and cheese muffins. Of the three, the hat trick tartare was my favorite.

I ordered the Mustard and Maple Glazed Salmon for my entree, thinking it might be an interesting flavor. The glaze ended up reminding me of teriyaki sauce and the salmon itself was good. The sauteed spinach and cherry tomatoes that accompanied it were okay, but the artichoke hearts were from the can, not fresh. Everything was just a little too oily.

A friend ordered the Baja Tacos with Mahi Mahi though, and those looked a lot tastier. If I do return, I'll likely try the thin crust pizza. They have several varieties including a special. Tonight's featured sopressata.

Great bar food with a spin. First, for the record, every PR event I have been to there far surpasses the food passed around at any other venue, so kudos to you guys on that.

Beyond that, their food is American bar food with a spin--and it is delicious. Their Mac n' Cheese Muffins are right up my alley, and made infinitely better with the addition of their BBQ sauce for dipping.

I have had quite a few items there for dinner. Their Turkey Burger is delicious. When I ate there recently I had the Big Buff sandwich (a buffalo chicken sandwich with celery and carrot cole slaw) and it was delicious. My girlfriends had the Baja Tacos and the Yoga Pizza, and both were said to be outstanding.

And the truffle fries....too amazing for words. Whatever mustard dipping sauce they serve with them (I do like my dips and sauces) is tasty.

I also recommend drinking on their rooftop, whilst still available. A butt load of VIP hosts are around and incredibly accommodating. If you go with a group of ladies get the elevated booth by the T.V., obviously.

DISCRIMINATORY BUSINESS PRACTICES. This is establishment has horrible racist, class, and other discriminatory practices! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I was refused admittance when I went there to watch the celtics v lakers game because I had on a t-shirt. While arguing with security they continually let people (white) in who had on t-shirts, gym shoes, hoodies, and jerseys. I HAVE NO BEEN SO DISRESPECTED IN MY LIFE!!!

If you are a minority and you enjoy being treated as a second class citizen this is the place for you! Its sad because it is part minority owned.

West Loop bar and restaurant caters to glam sports fans.. With five options--dining room, beer garden, rooftop deck, sidewalk cafe and sports bar--plus a free bus that transports sports fans to and from the games, this multifaceted venue offers a multitude of ways to socialize in style. Sure, a beautiful it-crowd gathers, but so do low-key types seeking rooftop relaxation with spectacular skyline views. Buffalo wings in blue cheese potato skins and beef short rib sliders give the usual suspects a clever tweak, while main dishes like a 14-oz sirloin patty alongside whipped garlic potatoes and broccoli fuse the gourmet with hearty Midwestern standards.
