There’s nothing flashy about this pastry shop and cafe, from its understated, tranquil blue interior to its rotating lineup of European sweets. Tried-and-true standbys such as croissants and Danishes share the bakery case with lesser-knowns like the Gateau Breton, a dense, buttery shortbread cake. If any of the pastries seem unfamiliar, the friendly staff is willing to assist in the selection process. Patrons range from commuters, swinging by for a morning coffee and pastry, to stroller-pushing moms, lingering over beverages like the Fritz chai tea latte, a flavorful concoction of whole milk, masala chai and spices. There's a strong emphasis on seasonal ingredients sourced from local markets and vendors.
