Sandwiches get an upgrade at this cozy Lakeview deli.. Chef Michael Lachowicz loves his dogs and Hollywood divas, and these passions come together at the below-ground sandwich shop, named after his two four-legged friends, that features gourmet sandwiches with celeb monikers. While the shop’s simple decor may not impress with its limited seating, exposed ducts and smattering of refrigerated cases, the food will. Lachowicz taps into his fine dining expertise (he owns Winnetka’s Restaurant Michael) to create a dozen sandwiches with thoughtfully paired gourmet ingredients. Case in point: the Wham, with slow-cooked leg of lamb, goat cheese, garlic mayo and a creamy eggplant spread on a rosemary roll. The sandwiches are bolstered by a daily-rotating selection of entrees, pates, salads, soups and sweets.
