“have been to Yolk a few times and enjoyed the food particularly the multi grain pancakes.”
“New food came, still wrong (menu said poached eggs, they came scrambled, sauce on side was on food, pancakes were cold) but we nibbled and were presented a bill for the entire amt.”
“When we were asked for the manager, the poor waitress said he's too busy but that's him at the cash register.”

Yolk is a Chicago favorite for good reason. Great eggs or egg whites. Pancakes or multigrain 'cakes. Something for everyone.
Food Cold & Wrong, Waitress Apologizes, Mgmt Yells at Custom. I have been to Yolk a few times and enjoyed the food particularly the multi grain pancakes. I took out of town friends there this weekend and every item was either wrong or cold except the orange juice! The waitress was horrified, spoke to the manager and he never came to the table but sent her back to say the food would be free or it can be remade. WHAT? New food came, still wrong (menu said poached eggs, they came scrambled, sauce on side was on food, pancakes were cold) but we nibbled and were presented a bill for the entire amt. When we were asked for the manager, the poor waitress said he's too busy but that's him at the cash register. Sorry, Tiki/Taki or whatever your name is, but that is NOT the way to treat customers!
Modern diner in River North has a love affair with eggs.. The formula that has brunchers lined up outside the South Loop location--eggs prepared multiple ways, pancakes, crepes and the like--is very much alive here, albeit in a quieter location. For regulars of the original, it’s déjà vu: yellow and blue walls, an open exhibition kitchen watched by the young Greek owner, private booths and blond wood tables spaced generously to accommodate strollers. Breakfast favorites include pecan roll French toast, spicy Hey Ricky omelets with chorizo sausage and salsa and a sinfully sweet bananas Foster crepe. Lunch goes light (i.e. the tropical walnut chicken salad) or hearty (Dublin pot roast sandwich).
