Bucktown restaurant serves Cuban eats beyond the sandwich.. For those whose knowledge of Cuban cuisine is limited to Cuban sandwiches, the frogs' legs with aioli on the menu at this spacious Bucktown restaurant will expand horizons. At lunch locals dig into pressed sandwiches, from the classic ham, pork, cheese and pickle-stuff Cubano to the braised beef ropa vieja with plantains, but it’s dinner that features lesser-known Cuban specialties such as a "Criollo" pork stew packed with garlic, onions and Caribbean spices. The main dining room's tiled accents, tin ceiling, lazy ceiling fans and lush potted plants lend the air of a tropical cabana, which is helped along by live music Thursday through Saturday nights.
