What People Are Saying About Square Bar & Grill
The Editor

Jennifer Olvera
Citysearch
This casual watering hole keeps it local, from the neighborhood clientele to the modern wall sculptures created by a Chicago artist and the selection of 45 mostly regional craft brews. Alt-rock is cranked up, while games--shown on a few flatscreens--are turned down, making it clear where priorities lie. Although the menu of sandwiches, wraps and pizzas follow a familiar formula, there are a few unexpected finds, like a fresh bocconcini salad, homemade falafel, a Philly cheese steak made with shaved, house-roasted ribeye and fried candy bars.
The Details on Square Bar & Grill
Know Before You Go:
This place isn't nearly as overrun as Kuma's Corner across the street. And while its burgers aren't as famous, there's a solid-enough one--on a pretzel roll, no less--to be had, sans the hours-long wait.
Save Money:
Daily drink and food specials--perhaps mix-and-match beer buckets for $21 one night, and steals on wings, pulled pork sandwiches or burgers on others--leave change to spare.
