Cheap beer, whiskey and shots at this Wrigleyville faux-dive.
This Southern-inspired joint's motto--"Dive cuisine. Easy-to-spell drinks. Occasional roadhouse"--is no joke. Witness an entire section of the menu devoted to fried goodies like cheese curds, mini corn dogs and Buffalo bleu cheese sticks, which come served in paper cones. You won't find drinks easier to spell than "PBR" and "Jim Beam," which take precedence over frou-frou cocktails. The $10, all-you-can-handle weekend brunch, meanwhile, suggests roadhouse in the best sense of the word. However, the interior is far from rundown; dark pine walls with iron bars to resemble whiskey barrels, black booths and crimson lighting create a sexy vibe. The overwhelmingly male, popped-collar clientele divides their attention between 13 flatscreen televisions and scantily clad female bartenders.
