Solid burger list and a fun weekly trivia night make this a neighborhood standby.
Citysearch Editorial Review. The concept "something for everyone" isn't typically attainable for bars, but this one in Lakeview, named for Irish writer, poet and dramatist Samuel Beckett, does a bang-up job trying, delivering an unlikely combo of classic Irish literature, college football and upscale eats. It pacifies the hungry with Irish-tinged American fare, the thirsty with 12 beers on tap and 33 by the bottle, the sports fan with seven flatscreens showing the game and the intellectual with an in-house library with fireplace, tucked into the back corner. Rich wood accents, slate-colored walls and exposed brick provide an upscale vibe for guests, whether they choose to discuss literature over boutique beers or chest bump over shots of Jameson.
