Bernard's Bar

Bernard's reminds me of a bar that Ralph Lauren either designed or implanted in his own home. It's rather regal with very regal pricing.
Citysearch Editorial Review. Like its hotel host, The Elysian, this bar makes its presence known in a discreet, yet dignified way. In fact, unless you’re a hotel guest, you’re likely not to notice it due to its lack of signage and tucked-away location on the second floor. With framed nude sketches, velvet tufted sofas and mini ottoman-like tables topped with votives, the space is a masculine drinking den fully equipped with old-school sips like Manhattans and Sidecars, along with craft beers. Eschewing the convention-like settings of other hotel bars--how many times have you balked at patterned carpets and a sea of empty tables--the lounge aims to revive a speakeasy culture where conversation and cocktails prepared with TLC are the only items on the agenda.
