This warm, family-owned taverna in Lakeview is helmed by longtime restaurateur John Giannopoulos who absorbed the culinary wisdom of his mother while in Greece and recreates old family recipes here. It’s a sit-and-stay kind of place with cushy booths and window-side tables. For guest entertainment, chefs expertly cook much of the menu of traditional Southern Greek cuisine over an open flame. Menu highlights include the biftekakia--hand-rolled, spiced ground beef topped with a zesty tomato sauce, crafted with Greek-imported sea salt, oregano and olive oil.
