Best theater in the city.
This is definitely the best movie theater in the city. The seats are large and comfortable. It's clean -- no sticky floors or crusty seat cushions. Free parking!!
I have a comment for the patrons who complained about the baby policy -- babies shouldn't be allowed at a movie theater -- stay home!!
And to the DivaReviewer -- why didn't you ask for seats in the other VIP theater. That would have solved the problem. You are a diva!!

Movie cancelled for "VIP" party TWO MINUTES before starting.
I went to the ShowPlace ICON theater tonight with my husband for a long overdue date night. We sat down, had dinner, and -- when we heard over the loudspeaker our movie was starting in 5 minutes -- we ordered some additional food and drinks to take into the theater. Imagine our surprise when the manager CANCELED THE MOVIE AND TOLD US TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. Excuse me? I'm standing there with a glass of Malbec and a pizza and being told to put down my food and leave because they were hosting a "VIP event". In other words, someone far more important than us had rented the lounge space and some manager at ICON decided they just didn't want to be bothered with the 30 people who they had sold tickets to watch a movie that night. Nope, no movie, no apology, took my drinks, shoved a pizza box at me to pack my food up and move along -- basically GET OUT so some celebrity and his friends can have a party in their lounge.
Only after I refused to be thrown out quietly was I offered a refund for my tickets and my dinner. Still no apology for the complete and utter disrespect of making a cold cost/benefit analysis that we didn't matter and that it's okay to push out customers for more important people.
I will NEVER go to this place again....

"Leave your child at home next time".
My wife and I tried to catch an 11:30 showing with our 5 month old baby, so as not to bother anyone if the baby should make any noise. Theaters tend to be empty that early. We were told they have a policy of charging full, adult price for children under two to discourage people from bringing them and he would need his own ticket, even though he was sleeping in a sling and would not need a seat. After telling the manager that we would not be back to a business that discriminates unreasonably towards children she recommended that we consider returning WITHOUT OUR CHILD. After 15 minutes of this (and missing the beginning of our movie) she waive the baby fee. She then told me to choose which seats we would like, gave us THREE seats, and when we entered the theater, saw that there was ONE other person in there.
Please don't support this business until they can change their policy to be less ridiculous and more inclusive towards the family.
