What Our Expert Scouts Say

Chicago French Market

You don't have to love French fare to dig this huge indoor market. Spots like Saigon Sisters, a juice bar, a frites vendor, and a pasta spot have a lunch treat for any craving.

Tips for Chicago French Market

Better than a farmer's market. This place is incredible, transcending Chicago's already impressive farmers markets and even surpassing my expectations for a "French market" by lightyears!

This is Chicago's only indoor farmer's market that is open year-round and they always have an incredible selection of fresh produce, baked goods, crepes, wine, cheeses, and raw food!

Sweet Miss Givings is one of my favorites, because not only am I getting yummy treats but half of the profits go to the Chicago House which is dedicated to helping the homeless and those with HIV.

RAW has amazing raw food meals that just blow my mind. I'm by no means on a raw food diet, but I love trying their pizzas, lasagnas, and cheesecakes...it's so impressive that they are able to be so creative without cooking anything. Prices are a little steep, but definitely worth it.

City Organics is my go-to place for produce and City Fresh Market has an amazing selection of seafood, Amish chicken and tallgrass beef. The people are so nice and helpful though, always letting me know what just came in and what I can expect soon.

It's so conveniently located for people who work in the loop - you can stop by and grab a quick breakfast or lunch, or come by to pick up groceries on your way home. Every time I go, I end up wanting to buy everything, so I have to watch myself.

Citysearch Editorial Review. Chicago finally has its first year-round, indoor marketplace providing the city with permanent, convenient and personal access to local artisans and purveyors.
