When a vacation suddenly feels like a necessity, but a flight overseas is not happening, Vintage 338 offers a taste of southern Europe without the brutal 10-hour flight. The Lincoln Park wine bar features vino from all over southern Europe, with an emphasis on Spanish, Italian and French labels. Take a seat in the space--which looks like a simple, modern version of a wine bar you would find abroad--and order up a glass (or bottle) from the extensive list. Pair that with small plates such as roasted fingerling potatoes with spicy aioli or imported Spanish meats and cheeses with cured olives. Suddenly the thought of blowing a few paychecks on a trip seems somewhat unnecessary--at least for the time being.
