Nestled deep within the concrete jungle that has become the South Loop, this homey breakfast, lunch and dinner spot provides a down-home fix. With its plastic tablecloths, faux flower-topped tables and jungle of decorative hanging foliage, it feels like a mom-and-pop country kitchen. And Mom might as well be cooking, because all of her faves, from hearty meatloaf and pot roast to filling sides like buttered sweet corn, appear on the menu. Prices are more country than city, too; sandwiches top out at $6.95, and an ample slab of steak runs a measly $13.95. In true small town fashion, there’s an all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch buffet.
