“It had a little more of an upscale, professional vibe than the more colorful and spunky State St. location.”
“could taste how fresh the tomato and lettuce were as well, and I appreciate that Epic Burger sources the highest-quality ingredients, down to its organic ketchup.”
“Epic Burger has set a solid foundation for delicious food with great ingredients and I will definitely be back for more.”
Free, easy parking at this location. Also easy to order here thanks to helpful staff - burger? bun? add aged Wisconsin cheddar? Add an egg? Runny? Lettuce tomato? Grilled onions? Special sauce? Shake or yogurt-based smoothie? All the above except the last one - smoothie, please. Have to stop somewhere.
Tasty natural burger in Lincoln Park.
I was lucky enough to snag an invite to Epic Burger's Private Preview Event for the new Lincoln Park location.
Overall, I was impressed by both the decor and the food. It had a little more of an upscale, professional vibe than the more colorful and spunky State St. location.
The girl taking my order was clearly flustered, but considering it was her first or second day on the job, I won't blame her. She asked me a couple of times if I wanted cheese, how I wanted my onions - raw or grilled, and if I preferred white or wheat bread. However, she was friendly and I wasn't annoyed in the least that I had to repeat myself.
I opted for the All-natural chicken breast sandwich on wheat with a fried egg on top. I requested that the egg be sunny-side up, and while the cashier did make the effort to go in the kitchen to ask, they were not able to accommodate this.
When our order was brought to our table, my sandwich was without fries, although I did order a combo. I pointed this out politely, and our waitress immediately brought me fries with my order. No harm, no foul. My sandwich was missing the grilled onions I had asked for, but I didn't even really mind too much because it tasted great. My chicken breast was juicy and the wheat bun was just amazing. The fried egg was overcooked, like I had feared, but it was still a nice touch. I could taste how fresh the tomato and lettuce were as well, and I appreciate that Epic Burger sources the highest-quality ingredients, down to its organic ketchup.
The fries are unbelievable as well - thicker with a real potato taste, and lightly seasoned with sea salt.
Best part was that a lovely waitress stopped by several times offering us smoothie and shake samples. I tried the Lemon Squeeze, Four Berry, Milk n Honey, P.B. Enjoy and Chocolate Milkshake. I daresay the Lemon Squeeze was my favorite, but they were all very tasty.
There were several hiccups along the way, but this was just a dress rehearsal. Epic Burger has set a solid foundation for delicious food with great ingredients and I will definitely be back for more.
