What Our Expert Scouts Are Saying

Walking into the Four Seasons can be a bit harrowing. Are we wearing the right shoes? Look, there's Katie Couric! But once you've sat down in the dining room at Allium, you'll feel right at home. Oh, sure, all the trappings of luxury are right there - the marble, the fountains, the gorgeous view of the city, but the food (and prices) are much more approachable. Drink the special Red Onion Ale by Goose Island or a shot of Allium's single-barrel custom bourbon, order a bowl of chorizo cheese potato chips, and enjoy the good life.

The miso butterscotch milkshake is to. The housemade hot dog is served with condiments on the side so you can dress it to your liking (tip: put ALL OF THEM on). Also the butterscotch miso milkshake is to-die for, and there is a spiked hot chocolate list.

The Four Seasons' restaurant is top-notch. Don't expect generic hotel-fare--instead, it's locally sourced seasonal creations (and one downright delectable burger). The miso-butterscotch shake is a must.

Forget stodgy and stuffy, the Four Seasons is officially a hotspot for the trendsetting crowd. Chef Kevin Hickey is the coolest Four Seasons chef in - uh - the whole world.

Make sure to get that darn (famous) miso butterscotch shake. Also, don't skip the deconstructed Chicago hot dog.

I would come back just for the cocktails, wine and bacon monkey bread baked soft and buttery in a ceramic pot. Hanging lavash fun too.

Chicago's best new bites. What used to be formal is now casual without missing a beat on the menu. Chef Kevin Hickey explores elevated dishes with bold flavors in a less stuffy dining room. Great place to meet friends for drinks and bites or take on a full tasting of shared plates for the evening.

The staff has loosened up and it's by far one of the best meals in Chicago. With a seasonal menu and better price points, both locals and tourists will love the new concept at the Four Seasons Hotel.
