A little gem of a spot in Uptown, Thai Pastry does more than just desserts (though it does those well). There are Thai classics, plus a lineup of ice creams and pastries.

10. As a long time fan of Thai food (even before it became trendy) and recently having spent quite a while in Thailand, I can attest to the fact that Thai Pastry is authentic Thai food at its best. Both the food and service is excellent, and the price is right. For starters, the tom yom koong soup is excellent. I also LOVE the shrimp roll appetizer and the mini egg rolls (ok, so this one is not very Thai, but it is yummy). For those who like it spicy, I highly recommend the Red Curry with Chicken entree. Thai Pastry also delivers, so you can enjoy it at home (just be patient with the person on the other end of the phone, who may not speak the most fluent English).

"Bye Bye To This Thai (Restaurant)". We started with the thai spring rolls. They didn't taste fresh and were swimming in a funny tasting sweet and sour sauce. We were really hungry and looking forward to the next course...which was someone elses order (even though I repeated the order twice, our waitress got it wrong) How can you make a bad Pad Thai? They must have an old family secret!!! It was overcooked with little taste. The quality of the chicken in another dish we ordered was inedible. To make matters worse......we all felt sick when we got home..though still hungry because there wasn't a SINGLE dish ANY of us liked!!! We are all big thai food fans and frequent most of the Chicago thai restaurants..from upscale to simple neighborhood ones. THIS WAS BY FAR THE WORST THAI RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO....maybe even the worst restaurant...period!
