Have you ever had hot chocolate so good that you wanted to hug the person who made it? Luckily, Katherine Anne Duncan is friendly - so if you try, she probably won't slap you. Duncan has been creating truffles and caramels for years and selling them at markets all over Chicago. Now she's opened a storefront and expanded her menu. $7 may seem steep for hot chocolate, but this stuff is life-changing. It's real melted chocolate, not brown dust mixed with water. Make sure to try a bunch of different kinds - we're particularly fond of the salted caramel and the white chocolate chai. The store also carries all sorts of truffles, different flavors of caramels and serves coffee and baked goods. Stop in immediately - just don't plan on eating for the rest of the day.
