Navy Pier is an undeniable tourist trap with screaming children and sticky cotton candy, but every once in a while doesn't a New Yorker go to the Empire State Building or a San Franciscan to the Bridge?
See both IMAX and regular films at this well-appointed giant screen theater..
In Short
The massive IMAX screen makes an impression, as evidenced by the successful "Late Night at the MAX" series, in which 70-millimeter action and special-effects blockbusters like "The Matrix" and "Gladiator" have been shown. The theater shows the usual nature-documentary-type IMAX films as well.
Worth it, mostly.. This place rocks. If only the seats were more comfortable.... Does seem kinda expensive especially when you show up for a lame film, and they do have some, but then, that's what reviews are for. Plus it's easy to get to on the eL, so you don't have to pay for parking.
Are you kidding me?. They want 11 bucks for a one-hour film? Is this a joke. Get serious. I'd love to bring my little boy to see "Beauty and the Beast" on the big screen, but I cannot pay $11 for a movie after paying $15 to park. Get real.
