Chicago >The Boarding House
I think I'll come back for the wonderful wine selection hand-picked by Alpana and the gorgeous, addictive desserts by Julia Fitting. The wine cellar downstairs is a great space for bigger parties and events up to 100.
The Boarding House had me at pork tots. They also had me at lobster poutine, Edith's fried chicken, the kale Caesar salad and chicken liver mousse. Menu items are on the heavy side, but get some bubbly or a rose to cut some of the fat and your golden. Stunning, see-and-be-seen room, and one of the most white-hot bar first floor bar scenes in town. Any it's no surprise and beautiful twenty and thirty-somethings convene under an endless cluster of wine glasses.
With four stories and a great wine list, this is a spot to see and be seen.
This may be destined to be my favorite restaurant of 2013. The menu is amazing, there are plenty of different spaces to experience and just look at that chandelier.
