Do not get any Comfort Approved Service.Bad Experience. I have installed highly energy efficient Heating and AC system by Approved Comfort. Last year I got regular service(cleaning ) from other company because approved comfort is too expensive. I have 5 year external warranty from approved comfort as well as Manufacture warranty too. Couple of month ago I had issue on my heating. I called them and they told me Technician came over there and told you. Technician charge me $ 565 for the find the problem and change the circuit board. They told me once we got the money from company we gave back. They didn’t gave me money back and gave me a hard time. When I find out my manufacture company they were ready to replace my board because I got 5 year hassle free warranty. Finally I got half money back from Approved comfort and I resolved my problem to other company and they cover my warranty but Approved comfort got labor warranty money but they didn’t cover. I would like to other customer APPROVED COMFORT IS NOT RELAIBLE SOURCE THINK ABOUT……When you buy they tell you some thing and later…..different story I hate this kind of policy.
Quality Work With Helpful, Considerate Customer Service. It's easy to say this was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had with any HVAC company, or any service contractor for that matter. Local, friendly, reliable staff who followed up after my service call to ensure I was satisfied with the work that was done... and I certainly was. THANK YOU Approved Comfort!
.On rt 25 and bluff city blvd. Never used approved comfort and never will. .On rt 25 and bluff city blvd in Elgin. I had a verbal dispute with a employee at a gas station over a position in line to the cashier. When i ask the employee to wait in the back of the line . The employee told me to shut up.Said" you don't know who your f***ing with"and Said he would smack me. Also had a very bad attitude. He did this in fist place to get a empty cigar paper. Most likely to smoke drugs out of. If that is the type of employees approved comfort retains. count me out.
You get what you pay for!!.
Danny, let me just say that old proverb "you get what you pay for"...it is true in every sense of the word and I was so proven wrong today. Last night my furnace decided to kick out cold air instead of hot and not really paying much attention, I just went to bed thinking it had just kicked on and it hasn't warmed up yet. However this morning I got and the house was 64 degrees....and yet the setting was on 70. I put my hand over the vent to find that the cold air was still rushing in as well as the red light was blinking on the furnace. I opted to shut the system down and try to kick start it by following the manual to see if maybe I could re-set the furnace. It was a no go so at 7:30 am I placed a call and had your service guy, Cesar scheduled to come out btwn 2 and 4. He showed up promptly at 2pm did a diagnostic of the furnace and found that the motor was clogged with dust/dirt. Embarrassingly enough my mom was there and told him the truth about what we both felt was just a "deal". We found a coupon to have our furnaces cleaned for $65.00. Well let me just say, when the guy from this other place came out I found that one, he was not dressed very clean, nor was his attempt to what he called "clean" the furnace. I think the most he did was take off the front cover and then say okay all done...
My mother and I spoke almost simultaneously when we agreed...we got screwed. I told her okay tough lesson learned. That is what my mom told Cesar and he explained why my motor would get clogged after only 5 years after the purchase of this furnace. He explained it is imperative to get efficiency and longevity out of any unit you must maintain it...and he was totally professional on the phone with me (as I am at work and my mom went to the house) and explained that he understood that the cost is a bit more than other companies, but Approved Comfort does the job and does the job well.
I told him that on top of the diagnostic fee of 89.00 to go ahead and do the cleaning for $109.00. I guess $298 wasn't bad considering he said a new motor, which I may end up having to get would be $629.00.
Long story short...you have earned a customer that will now listen and have the maintenance done yearly so as to avoid situations like this.
Top Company Top Job. I'm a contractor who has built many homes. Because of this I've also tried many different HVAC companies. Stop looking around and call Approved Comfort. I will never use anyone else.
No need to call anyone else. I have had this company work on my house and business for the past seven years. There is not a more professional company out there. They take care of there customers ASAP. The techs are very good and always inform me as to what' going on.
This Place Rips You Off. I paid $300+ for a part that really costs around $14 if it were to be ordered online. The guy who came to install the part smelled like alcohol and was very rude. I could hear him cussing in the basement because he was struggling to remove the part he had to replace. After he was finished he was impatient while I chose what method to pay. I would defiantly stay away from this company, they are very unprofessional.
Best bang for your buck!.
I am a price guy, my wife hates it, but I am a price guy. I don't write reviews either, but my wife has been racking her brains researching every fine detail and we saw all these great reviews for Approved Comfort. being the price guy I am, I got 3 other quotes and Approved was the 2nd highest. I thought the decision was set, go with the lowest price. But when we had a chance to actually compare what we would get for the money we were going to spend, Approved Comfort had everything covered. Even if you took away all the "extras" we got, Approved still offered us the best value. I can't imagine all the money people like me have been throwing away by not checking this. I am glad we used Approved Comfort, and we even got energy rebates thet NO other ccompany in the Crystal Lake area even knew about. So I say I am a price guy, and I still am. I just make sure I don't throw my money away- go with Approved Comfort and you will be safe in doing so. Friendly staff, knowledgeable sales professionals, an owner that cares, products that will return my money to me!! I mean I am not one to gush or brag, but this was a great eye opner for us and we would urge anyone that is in need of any type heating or air conditioning service to deal with Approved Comfort. I have been around a long time, since 1960, and this is the first time I have EVER written anything like this. Use them and you will be happy, my wife and I guarantee it!

Customer Service is Our #1 Priority. Approved Comfort’s policy on any work performed is “payment upon completion, and only when satisfied.” When our Service Technician performed the diagnostic we found many issues with the equipment (old age, rust, corrosion, etc.) that could lead to potential problems. This customer only agreed to and signed off on the most basic of services to address and fix items to “get them going again.” Upon getting the system working again, we reiterated that many of the deficiencies may create problems and we couldn’t guarantee what other issues could result from not completely repairing the system. The customer signed permission to begin work, initialed what work was to be performed PRIOR to beginning said work, and once done AND completely satisfied the customer signed that all work was done as agreed and to their satisfaction. Furthermore, the customer then filled out and signed a personal check for payment of services rendered to their satisfaction and that was complete. Due to the age and condition of the equipment, the customer requested information on a new system. When speaking with the Salesperson, Judith indicated that she and her husband wanted to wait until the end of summer since “our air conditioner is working just fine now;” both parties agreed to speak in September. Several hours later the service technician called into Management that the customer was making extremely threatening and harassing phone calls; in response to the A/C not working again. When Management called, instead of allowing Approved Comfort to offer solutions and dispatch a technician, this customer continued to threaten our employees and promised to “say bad things about us” if we did not replace their entire system for free. As we told the customer, there were many issues concerning their equipment and that the simplest fix is not the best fix; but they demanded we get it to run again and didn’t care if one issue is fixed and others may arise. So for giving the customer what they want, a simple fix, and for not replacing their old system with a brand new one for free- they are making comments like this posted here. Despite the materially false allegations, including these remarks, we have made attempts to contact the client to offer solutions to fix their issues, including a full refund of any monies paid, but have not heard anything back
DON"T HIRE THIS ! You will be sorry like I am.
They came yesterday to see what is wrong with my air and charged me $166 saying that they fixed it and was working but it will take some time to cool . An hour later I realized that was not working. Called them and they said they did their job and if I want them back I have to pay again. So they charged me for nothing because I did not get the right diagnostics and the system never cooled like I was told. Their managing director was very agressive, unprofessional , telling that in fact he is the right hand of the owner and he does not care how I feel and he is going to hang up and that I do not have chances for getting my money back for a job poorly done. Contact me if you want more details . By the way an hour after the technician left the Managing Director ( Tom ) called to sell a new unit . He did his homework very quickly looking at my house via the satellite. I am going to write bad reviews for this unprofessional bad quality service as much as I can. Please read the Chicago Tribune for a " nice " article that will explain how this business miss lead the customers , take advantage of the fact that they have no air conditioning reparing expertise and lie to customers . My air still blows warm air!!!!! and I was told is working about 3-4 hoursI Today , I hired another company and guess what they found the right diagnostics, a missed connection to the capacitator that in fact the company "APPROVED COMFORT HEATING AND AIR" UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF TOM THE MARINE AND DANNY MARTIN THE OWNER failed to see......and fix while giving the wrong diagnostics. I am wondering how many people are getting ripped off like this, Please look for a an article in the Chicago Tribune soon. This is unaceptable. I am sure others got the same I got, Let's get together and fight this BEAHAVIOR. We work hard and I think all of us feel a great level of responsability when we are doing our jobs whatever those are.
DON"T HIRE THEM . YOU WILL BE SORRY AND YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY . Sincerely, Judith
