What Our Expert Scouts Are Saying

BellyQ
Bill Kim is, by now, a Chicago cult celebrity. Say "Urban Belly" to any foodie and their mouths immediately start watering at the memories. So, when he announced he was opening a Korean Barbecue joint on Randolph Street, most of us started clearing our calendars. He didn't disappoint. Grill savory meats, marinated for more than a day, on cooktops at your table. Drown your sorrows in a hot pot flavored with kimchi and double smoked bacon. Give that seafood pancake you've had 20 times at mediocre Korean restaurants another chance - this one is roasted in a wood fired oven and served with a black vinegar sesame soy sauce. Then sit back and rub your belly. We promise it'll be happy.

Spring might be around the corner, but no matter how balmy it gets I will be much obliged to dig into Bill Kim's heaping bowl of umami-laden udon noodles.

Brunch is a delicious affair, with duck bun benedicts, nori waffles, and the now-famous soft serve with a side of jam-topped doughnuts.

Grill marinated meats at your table. Eat seafood pancakes. Repeat. Smile.

Start with the Long Goodnight cocktail. There's so much amazingness on the food menu, but the fried tofu seafood hot pot, and soft serve dessert are all musts!

Reserve a smokeless grill-top table to cook your own Korean BBQ beef, garlicky short ribs and banana leaf salmon without the Benihana smell. Goes great with a side of chinese buns, spicy kimchi and bok choy for min "sandwich" making.
