Half Acre Beer Company Tap Room

Chicago has always been a city of great beer halls. But how often is the beer created 10 feet from where you sit? Half Acre Brewery has been taking the city's craft beer scene by storm since they opened in 2007, but until now, you've always had to enjoy their beer at someone else's bar. Now they've opened a bright, beautiful tap room right next to the brewery. There are no bar snacks, cocktails or pizzas here - just beer after glorious beer. Sit on one of the long Douglas Fir benches, look at the gently undulating wall (made from the 110 year-old inside of a grain elevator from Wisconsin) and order one of the 8-10 beers on tap. You can always get Half Acre classics like Daisy Cutter and Gossamer, but some of the options are special brews that your can't get in bottles. If you're lucky, the brewers will decide to break open a keg of something wacky and experimental. Next time you're buying a growler at the brewery, head next door and knock back a few.
