Editorial Review for Smith Rock State Park – by Jenny Tom
In Short
Located just off Highway 26 near Redmond, this park is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts, and is known worldwide for its rock climbing. The rocks are a magnificent sight to see, even for non-climbers. Jagged peaks, the highest some 550 feet, loom over a deep canyon and the Crooked River. The park encompasses more than 600 acres in the high desert (3,000 feet elevation). Miles of hiking and mountain biking trails offer challenging terrain and Kodak-moment views.
