Really bad service!
by Karen22
The place is empty inside, the music is average but what bothered me the most is the staff. THe bouncers are EXTREMELLY rude as well as the people who work in the lower level. I lived in NY and even in the best clubs I had never had an experience like I had at "Le passage".
Very sad to see how a place that was that cool is not the shadow of what it was. As for the bouncers/doormen, the owners should do something about it.
Not worth my time!
- Pros: Used to be one of the best in town....not anymore
- Cons: Staff is EXTREMELLY RUDE!
Avoid at all costs!

I went to the Drawing Room at Le Passage on Saturday, May 9 night with a group of friends and had the worst dining out experience of my life. I ordered a salad as a starter and much to my horror, found a very large black insect in it! I immediately called over my waiter to take it away, and he sent over the manager. They were extremely embarrassed, to say the least, and very apologetic, claiming that "it came that way from the farm." Frankly, I don't care where it came from! The kitchen should have caught it in the washing and preparation process...which only tells me they did not wash the greens prior to serving. All they did in compensation was to offer my meal and one bottle of wine for free. To top it off, service was ridiculously slow (our meal lasted 3.5 hours), and the over-priced servings were so small that we all went away hungry. All in all, a very disappointing experience. Worst ever in Chicago...or anywhere in the world I've been, quite frankly. Avoid at all costs!
- Pros: decor
- Cons: insects in food, poor service
Fun!!

Had a ton of fun here. From out of town and didn't realize Chicago had after hours bars. It was definitely well worth it!
WHATTT????!!!

I have no idea what all these people are talking about! I have been to Le Passage many times in the since the the new owners have taken over. They must be angry and disillusioned thinking that they should get everything for free! I know the type, I REALLY have worked in the industry for a long time! and by "Industry" I mean clubs from Detroit to Miami to New York to Chicago. I know the type, I worked at "Applebee's for 2 months as a "bartender" so I know everything about the "Industry". Get real, every time I have been in there they have been super professional and I don't know anyone there!!!!! It is always a party and always fun, maybe next time step down off your soap box and realize everything is not handed to you...
Go back to Applebee's you whiney brats
- Pros: drinks, service, party atmosphre, DJ's
- Cons: parking
Will literally try to scam you! Don't ever go there!

I have been to Le Passage when it first opened, back when it used to be great. Then it became horrible and I vowed to never go back. After hearing about the take over of 3headed productions I decided to give it another chance. The people AND staff were still trashy. On top of that when getting my tab for bottle service, the waitress AND GM tried to run an old scam on me! I caught it because I used to work as a bartender in undergrad. To make up for it they offered a free bottle the next time I return! There will never be a next time because that place is actually at it's worst! If you go there hide your wallet and do not trust the staff.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: The staff will try to scam you if you get bottle service
Not So Nice
by XenaLa
"I have been to Le Passage before and i loved it! So last night i decided to go there and celebrate my 25th birthday with my closest friends and family and they refused to let us in. And when i inquired she pretty much stated there were too many of us (black people). Now i am never paranoid about racism, i have never had issues before but when i took her to the side to really try to understand she pretty much told me its just the way things are, I am sorry but i will never go back there and will never recommend a place that discriminates against your skin color. And i am sure you will all have your assumptions and opinions but she was pretty blunt about it because she had nothing else to complain about, we were all dressed beautifully, we were courteous and been patient. I guess some things in this world will never change. LONG STORY SHORT LE PASSAGE DOES NOT WANT BLACK PEOPLE IN THEIR CLUB"
Are you kidding me?

I would have to agree with the person who wrote "Le Piece of S**&". I was in there last night and it absolutely blew. I mean really? who are they kidding? Its $$$$$ for the following: crappy service, atrocious management, poorly made drinks and terribly snobby crowd. why waste your money? go somewhere fun. not to mention someone fell down a stairwell and got injured. i'd be surprised if this place stayed in business after that person sues them. good luck if you go there. i recommend taking your hard earned money somewhere else. oh, we had appetizers and they were mediocre at best - came out cold and rubbery.
TERRIBLE PLACE - EVEN UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT
by skolish
Never, ever go here. It is absolutely horrific. Service is terrible, drinks are weak but cost $15 and the staff was rude. I spoke to the "manager" - some douche with a super gay tattoo on his arm and he was just not helpful in the least . We were being over charged and he did nothing about it. Not wanting to stay beyond what was already a horrible time I just paid the tab and left. BOTTOM LINE STAY AWAY IT STILL STINKS!
- Pros: nice bathroom attendant
- Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE ESPECIALLY MANAGEMENT
posh crowd..nice decor
by foxy_roxy
Le passage re-opening as Le passage dicotheque and the drawing room completely blew me away in the best sense possible. I like it much better than underground, rino and j bar. The crowd as hot, and the prices were resonable...
I think the official reopening to the public is november 9th..its open till 4 am and 5 am on saturdays..
what was really cool about it was that it was linked with The Drawing Room which was a culinary cocktail lounge...
there were lots of very beautiful ladies there..and well dress men as well
- Pros: ambience, parking, service, good looking people, decor, food was really well prepared
- Cons: a bit expensive, but worth it..
Ehhhhhh...meh.
by skriker77
It's okay. I used to go here a lot, like, 4 years ago. I went again recently, and this place feels like, well, 4 years ago. You know a club isn't cutting edge anymore when all the "Chicago celebs" are skulking around it every weekend. Sorry, Jeremy Piven, but I won't be going here again.
- Pros: Maybe you'll get groped by a drunk David Schwimmer! Oh boy!!
- Cons: see above
