Good Place to Get A Lot
by Mom1 at Citysearch
This site has the wrong phone number for JC Penny. Someone needs to get it right. It is someone's home #!
- Pros: Good mall
- Cons: Too many young people
Pretty Decent Mall
by GoldenAsh at Citysearch
Ford City is a cool place...mildly urban. One of those places where you go when you really need something because you can more than likely find it in their hundreds of stores. Other than that, you would shop outside of a mall for more original items. Love Auntie Anne's pretzels in there, and all the shoe stores. Also, Le Club is good for dressy clothes (i.e., gowns, etc.)
If the South Side is home to the working man, then Ford City Mall fits right in.

The Scene
For what it lacks in aesthetics, it makes up for in function. Set up like a series of strip malls conjoined, it offers a mixuture of services and bargain clothing stores. Over 150 retail stores lie on two levels; the main floor and the underground level called the Connection.
The Stores
Marshalls, Old Navy, and Famous Footwear stand in opposition of anchor stores Carson Pirie Scott, JC Penney, Sears and Montgomery Ward, while Kids R Us and John M. Smith Homemakers serve as specialty shops. Record Town and the Saturday Matinee movie store offer pleasant diversions. You can take in a show at one of 14 theaters at General Cinema Ford City or let Food City food court fill your tank with Arby's, Bressler's Ice Cream, Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken, McDonald's and Wendy's. The mall also houses restaurants like John's Garage, Old Country Buffet and Girabaldi's.
