Good Deal
by joanbob
The sushi is cheap, and you can taste it. But if you are looking for a 'quick fix', this is the place to go. The menu is priced very, extreamly, reasonably and it is a full menu. They do have delivery and take-out. However, the sushi does taste very fishy and has a distinct smell. If your looking for a cheap date, this is the place to go.
- Pros: Great Prices
- Cons: Poor Quality Fish
Declining quality
by jena18
My boyfriend and I have been ordering take-out from Ringo approximately 2-3 times a week for the past 8-9 months. Initially we were very happy with the quality and variety of the sushi. Unfortunately, it has sharply declined over the past 2 months. We typically ordered rolls with tuna and rolls with avocado, and both have been off. The tuna has smelled very "fishy" and has had a chewy consistency and the avocado has either been under-ripe and hard or overly ripe and brown. We originally thought that maybe we had just caught them on an off-night, however, the quality has been consistently poor. We will no longer order from Ringo and would not recommend it to anybody who enjoys fresh, high-quality fish.
- Pros: Conveniently located
- Cons: Poor-quality fish
Fresh sushi, fantastic service, great value
by sushilover213
I just moved here from Los Angeles and was struggling to find a decent sushi place until I found Ringos. I probably go to Ringo's a couple of time each month. The staff is super friendly and the ambience is decent. But the sushi is the star - it's fantastic. The Firecracker Roll is different and always good. I've brought many friends here and everyone has always had great things to say.
- Pros: good value, fresh sushi, friendly staff
- Cons: parking is tough
Not Just Your Favorite Beatle

Ringo is amazing, from the large sushi pieces to the knowledgable servers to the great BYOB policy (No Corking Fees!). I was lucky to live around the corner for a year & now I try to go back at least once a month. Truly, "The best, Jerry, the best!"
- Pros: BYOB (no corking fee), Great Quality & Value, Superb Service
- Cons: , nothing, nothing
Moderately priced Japanese fare in a comfortable Lincoln Avenue setting.

In Short
A quiet, clean storefront on an otherwise rowdy stretch of Lincoln Avenue, Ringo's cheery ochre walls are hung with good-luck kites, and oval paper lamps hang from the ceiling, setting an attractive, uncomplicated scene for the food. The menu offers eye-catching presentations of traditional plates like lightly battered shrimp tempura, spicy-sweet seaweed salad, and a variety of maki and nigiri.
- Pros: good Japanese
- Cons: so-so sushi
BEST CHICAGO SUSHI
by TKAVALIA
By far the best place for sushi! I have tried most of the sushi places in chicago and Ringo is by far the best. Since I have gone there for the first time, I have not been to another place since.
Highly recommend the firecracker roll. It is like no other!
- Pros: inexpensive, excellent quality
- Cons: Not many tables
depaul kids love ringo
by SatineSally
its so close to campus that i can't say i've tried many other chicago sushi places, but a few friends and i are regulars at ringo sushi...we're often there twice a week or so. The sushi is probably not the absolute best in the world, but its certainly much better than most and no too expensive. It's got a great casual atmosphere that is condusive to bringing home to work on while you and you're buddies munch...great place, i highly reccomend it.
- Pros: casual, friendly
- Cons: cramped
