Sculptures of all kinds greet you on a pleasant, grassy-park walkway in Skokie.

Take It In
A paved path winds its way through the sculpture garden, and an unofficial one cuts a couple of corners as well for bikers and joggers more interested in getting home. Beautifully maintained grass covers the area, beckoning to those who don't find the many wayside benches daydreamy enough.
The Sculptures
All are at least partially abstract, and the favored material is metal. A dedicated parking lot is in the middle, so car people need to decide whether to start with the more spectacular works on the north end or the quieter pieces on the south end.
History
On a plaque greeting visitors, the Fel-Pro corporation waxes prideful of this civic project, done with the City of Skokie. Fel-Pro donated the skinny, ambling quarter-mile strip of land the park is on, along with its first sculpture, Theodore T. Gall's appropriately industrial-themed "Groundbreaking" (1984).
