Very Relaxing.
by J99
I was given a gift certificate by my sweet hubby as I've been so stressed out at work. I decided to try the Head and Toe massage. When I walked in I was instantly greeted and given water. The waiting area was a little crowded, but I wasn't there long. My therapist DeAnna picked me up and took me upstairs. My massage was exactly what I needed, very relaxing. I especially enjoyed having my neck worked on and the head massage. DeAnna's pressure was exactly right and I will try to go back and see her as my schedule (and budget) allow.I added a waxing service with Endira. I won't go into details, but it was quick and painless which is exactly what you want during that type of service!
The checkout was fairly quick, no complaints. I didn't have cash for a tip, but they let me use my card. All in all, a nice afternoon.
- Pros: Staff
- Cons: Parking/Valet is pricey, next time I'll take the train
Best Trip Ever!
by Ilrt1014
Once again I treated myself for my birthday, and this was, by far, my best visit. I was slightly annoyed when I arrived-a bachelorette party got there right when I did. They quite frankly overlooked me entirely to pamper the big group-even though my treatments cost over $400, and I doubt their’s did! Once again Jennine is an absolute genius-never loose her! I have been there before where some of the techs were not that great, but this time I had the best techs working with me. The changing room/lounge is still the most relaxing place on earth! I just think better front desk help would be beneficial!
- Pros: Wonderful techs, relaxing environment
- Cons: Front desk help
Great Facials/Massages!!
by Bjelland
I have gotten several facials from Tara at Spa Space who always does an outstanding job. Shes very knowledgable and really listens to what your issues are and is able to really focus on them. She does great extractions, and does them ALL, which is required for me in a good facial! I've seen several massage therapists previously, and they've been great, but this last time I saw Jerry who was amazing! 1.5 hours (thanks to my husband!) He really is familiar with tense muscles and how to make you feel relaxed. Both of them together put me in such a great state of relaxation. I will go back to see them again and again.
- Pros: Outstanding services
Unprofessional Microdermabrasion
by Tangerine115
Skip going to Spa Space for a microdermabrasion. I have purchased microdermabrasion packages before but thought I would try something close to home. This was by far the worst one that I?ve had and very unprofessional. The person giving me the micro was not skilled, it should never be painful. She also ran into problems with the machine and was pushing other facials on me until the machine was fixed. After the machine was fixed, it took all of 10 minutes to complete. I had a friend with me that also did the micro as well and it took all of 15 minutes for her to complete....pretty pricey for a 10 minute facial. I was offered spa dollars to come back but I will never go back again. I get the feeling this is more of business on customer quotas rather than a spa experience for the customers.

I'm so sorry that you had this experience! We perform a lot of microdermabrasion at Spa Space because it is so effective for improving skin (our new machine is powerful most clients have reported that the short-term discomfort is well worth the great results), and I can assure you that all of the estheticians are thoroughly trained to perform the service. It sounds like an equipment problem flustered your technician - while we aim for "grace under pressure" sometimes it can cause the best of us to falter! Despite the impression we created on your visit, our focus is very much on quality and client retention and therefore our staff does not have quotas. I think that we could demosnstrate that your experience was a fluke if you choose to give us another opportunity. Please contact me directly if I can help!
Best manicure I ever had
by hbrownell1213
I'm in town visiting a friend and was able to get a same day appointment on a Sunday afternoon. Alisha gave me the best nail polish job I've ever received (and I'm a mani junkie). I went for the vanilla almond manicure and it smelled SO GOOD. Loved it! I'll definitely be getting another service before leaving town.

Love to hear it!! The vanilla-almond mani is one of my favorites, especially in the cold, dry winter (which seems to last forever here in our beloved city). I'll make sure Alicia gets kudos for her great technique and please come visit us again on your next trip to Chicago!
Wonderful Massage so-so ambiance
by abc123chi
I am new to Chicago and have been investigating spa's in all different neighborhoods to be my new favorite spot. I am a frequent spa goar and consider myself to be somewhat of a connoisseur. I had heard good things about Spa Space so thought I would give it a try. I had a massage with Beth and it was wonderful. I have been having some pretty intense neck/shoulder problems and she worked on me very powerfully but delicately she even incorporated some techniques and stretches that I have not before experienced... which kind of says a lot. I also had a facial. The facial was just average. I really enjoyed the products and the overall process and technique of the facial however my facialist seemed not so interested and even rushed. Also, she had the music on so low I heard far more of construction and her chair squeaking than relaxing music. Lastly the "relaxation room" was definitely lacking. Three magazines, no music and I assume it must be near the break room because all i could hear was very loud chatting. Luckily my appointments ran on time and I spent very little time in there.
- Pros: massage, products, treatments
- Cons: results dependant on who your treatment is with

Thank you for your honest, comprehensive review! I'm so glad that Beth helped you with your knots - she's a pro, no doubt - but as an owner my attention goes right to how we can fix your areas of complaint! Typically the relaxation lounges do have peaceful music piped in, but perhaps it was drowned out by the chatting you heard. Usually guests find this space to be a little oasis in the spa - a place to nibble on our healthy trail mix, sip our Mighty Leaf tea, and cozy up in a comfy chair or day bed. I'm sorry that this was not your experience, and it's definitely true that its proximity to the locker room can lead to overheard conversation, particularly when we're at peak hours. We staff it with attendants so that you can always make requests (such as "more magazines, please"), but I understand that ideally, everything you want is right at your fingertips. Your input helps us make those improvements so your awesome massage is couched in all the best perks!
A convenient West Loop location makes it easy to get luxurious spa treatments during lunch.

The Scene
When Natalie Tessler couldn't find a decent manicure in the Loop, she opened her own body-boosting, soul-soothing spa downtown. The result: a clean, comfortable place to trade in business-casual for plush white robes and slippers. Unwind in the New-Age-y "relaxation room" until an amiable escort leads you to your treatment room.
The Services
Dry skin loves the "Buff and Drench," a rejuvenating body wrap that exfoliates and moisturizes you inside a warm paraffin cocoon. An upper-body massage makes you melt as your skin is lavished with scented oils and lotions. The luxurious signature facial takes a corrective approach to skin care; customized to your skin type, it purifies pores while you enjoy a hand/foot massage. Other treatments include manicures, pedicures, waxing and microdermabrasion. Rinse off in a rain shower before heading back to the office.
The Details
Massage, body treatments, facials, hair removal, sunless tanning, manicure/pedicure.
Best deep tissue massage ever ...request Beth!!
by JM60601
I just moved here from DC and had no idea where to go to get a massage. I tried city search and came across Spa Space. I had no idea what to expect. My back is full .. I mean FULL of knots. I try to get a massage atleast once every two months... and have NEVER had a better massage..Beth is the best! I weight train pretty seriously and I am a soccer player...I have never felt better after a massage. I got a 30 minute massage and wish I would have booked an hour! I will absolutley go back. The salon was VERY clean, the staff had the best customer service. I was very impressed. I would recommend this salon to any athlete looking for a great deep tissue massage!
- Pros: everything about this place!
