Know who you're giving your money to: David Borris is a far-left wing anti-war liberal who recently spoke in opposition to the display of a WWII-era Howizer near city hall intended to honor our military and it's sacrifices. Mr. Borris is an antimilitary "peace" activist who is involved with groups like declarationofpeace dot org, and moveon dot org. This is an excerpt from a recent article in Lake County News Sun (1/12/07): ------------------ David Borris, coordinator of Thursday's rally, sponsored by the political action committee MoveOn [dot] org, blasted the president's decision, labeling the Iraq War a continuing "meatgrinder" of American troops. He said more than 3,000 have already lost their lives in four years of fighting. "This is a senseless war, and it's up to us citizens to call upon Congress to formulate a plan for getting us out of it before the end of this year," he said. "If it doesn't happen, we will gather here a year from tonight to mourn the anticipated one thousand additional casualties which will probably occur there this year," he said. Borris likened the Iraq War to Vietnam as it was in 1968 when Lyndon Johnson was president. "Double the casualties occurred as the combat increased between 1968 and the war's end in 1975. Just as Viet Nam, this Iraq conflict is simply unwinnable. On Jan. 28 and 29 MoveOn will be going to Washington to circle the Capitol and urge Congress to cut funding for this nonsensical escalation of the Iraq conflict," He urged the group to join him. ------------------- If you disagree with Mr. Borris' far-left politics and his desire to see the U.S. lose in the war on terror, then vote with your dollars and avoid this business.
