Staple of the Skokie Family
by elissaburroughs at Citysearch
this resturant has become the staple of families living in skokie. the food is good and quick, the service is freindly and the price is right. not the cheapest but very resonable. great place to take kids when you want something better then fast food but need quick food. even have great chicken and salads. overall great family place
- Pros: good food, good price
- Cons: , find sometimes
Great variety, reasonably priced, very friendly

My kids love this place. They think it has the best grilled cheese, very simple but they love it. You can also order a banana (not on menu) if they are in stock as a better choice of side than fries. My husband loves their ribs and cheese burgers. I LOVE their gyros, they are huge, bring an appetite. Sides are family style, not meant for one person. I love great salads, and for me this is not the place to go for that, they know their meat and do it well. Even there tilapia sandwich is good. We are there at least once a week, a great choice!
Long-time Skokie favorite packs in the crowds for made-to-order Greek specialties--along with all the Chicago fast-food favorites.

In Short
Located along-side super-busy McCormick Boulevard, Dengeo's is known for it's Greek-inspired menu. Don't miss the souvlaki--either traditional pork or chicken--smallish cubes of meat, spiced with oregano and grilled on a stick. Gyros are OK, but it's the ground beef-lamb on the vertical spit, not sliced. Salads are pre-made, but huge. The Greek Village Salad is made the traditional way, with not a leaf of lettuce to be found among the tomatoes, cucombers, peppers, onions, olives and feta cheese.
Better-than-average Chicago favorites

Great spot for a quick lunch when you're racing up or down busy McCormick Boulevard. They've got all the usual burgers, dogs, Italian beef and so on. But also big salads and Greek dishes. It's absolutely jammed on weekend afternoons.
The Best Greek Food!!

Their salads are to die for they are so good. They're very big, fresh and with different variety. The service is extremely friendly and wonderful food from Gyros, BBQ Chicken, Pastas and of course their salads. Keep up the good work!! Good luck!!
- Pros: Clean, Fast, Affordable
