Could not be happier ....GEORGE IS GREATTTT

by Calir at Citysearch

My Husband goes to this guy George, and one day he convinced me to get a hair cut also by him. I gave it a chance since my husbands hair looks so good, stylish and yung, He was bussy, but on time. He was funny, nice , polite, and love his Euro accent. But the most important was the Fabulous cut he gave me.....is this Graduated cut than made look so yung and fresh ......I did need it. The first time I got it I went in a wedding and everyone I new and approched it made a stuning coment about my hair......unbelivabe.....I have goine to him ever since...He also recomended this girl for the color since now i go there and I asked him for, and she did such a gret job......

George simply THANK YOU ...such a artist.

OMG My Bangs!!!!

by chicagoluv81 at Citysearch

i recently made a daring moove and decided to spice up my hair, i went to Mario!! Its expensive and fabulous i was told this by all my friends! Well i made my appointment, and everything was well. When i arrived ten minutes early i was taking to a waiting room, well more like a hall way. Workers were walking on top of us waiting there finally when i was called at 11:15 my appointment was for 11 so i could be gone by 12 30 i had a wedding at 4:00: all i wanted was a cut and blowdry stylish was waiting at the hotel; well i was washed and fine with the service, but when she started cutting my hair it was a slippery slope! She cut my bangs to long so i asked her to shorten them and then she cut off and inch and a half i was left looking like i had straight across over my eye and then angled by my ear! i got my blowdry and left! the stylist luckily was able to whip something together, but i was very UN happy with the experience i guess you could say!!!!!

If you want to be pampered, go somewhere else!!

by mccoy2 at Citysearch

I was excited when I made this appointment for a haircut and blowdry. I was going to spend some of my hard earned money to pamper myself but ended up feeling just...angry. I had scheduled the appointment over the phone for a haircut and blowdry. The noise on the other end of the phone (laughing, ect) was loud but she did confirm the appointment and that is was for a haircut and blowdry. When I checked in for my haircut and blowdry - there was no problem. I arrived 15 minutes early and settled in to a very cramped waiting area with plastic ottomans and chairs. They had a very interesting collection of magazines covered in sticky plastic. Thought this was odd for a salon like this. When my name was called, my last name at that, I lost whatever hope I had that this was going to be a good experience. The woman was very nice about telling me she doesn't cut hair and that I must have made some sort of mistake when I booked the appointment. When I went down to the reception area to confirm what had happened, the receptionist confirmed it was only for a blowdry. Guess they didn't realize this when I checked in. She asked if I was interested in booking another appointment - guess what the answer to that was? No.

  • Pros: location is convenient
  • Cons: poor customer service

Burned Too

by bbbeautiful at Citysearch

Hey Never Again - I feel your pain. I was burned by hair dryer at a hair place. I was invited by daughterinlaw to be on her wedding day. After I was burned, my daughter was then burned by iron. Same stylist. We left crying. Didn't even get an apology. It is weerd - it felt intentional by the bride for none of the family members in the party came to see why we were crying and leaving so suddenly. The salon never apologized.

  • Pros: This is for dyer, in salon
  • Cons:  spell hair backward - the name of salon in IN

Never again!

by hb11 at Citysearch

This was the worst hair experience ever!!!! Double booking, no time for me, terrible color (cherry is not copper) and dye stains on my scalp and neck (I had to scrub them off when I got home) Stylist too busy to blowdry me out - so intern, who had never blown anyone out burned me 4 times! "Whoops, sorry!" was all she said. Do you know how painful a burn from a blowdryer is? Shorter than asked for cut. Terrible! I left in tears I was so upset. Do you think the free pedi gift certificate is really going to make up for it? The only good thing was the girl who washed me out.

  • Pros: Good pedis, friendly people
  • Cons: No time for clients, too expensive, don't listen

Inara was great, but.....

by sgray87 at Citysearch

I received a gift certificate, so I had my hair colored. Luckily, Inara was my colorist. She did an excellent job. However...

I don't like the atmosphere at Mario Tricoci. The girl who checked me in was not very pleasant, especially when she had to show me to the"hair waiting room". Soon, I was shown to my station. I arrived for my 9:30am appointment on time, but Inara wasn't ready for me until about 10am. Once my color was finished, I was shown to the "self-style" room by the shampoo girl. Then, Inara quickly stopped by to see if I liked it. I felt like I was in a processing plant. I thought that the atmoshere was cold and unfriendly. I guess I'm used to a certain level of service and warmth that I get at smaller salons. It's too bad, because I really liked Inara.

  • Pros: Inara did a great job
  • Cons: Way over-priced, Unfriendly atmosphere

Mario's crazy prices, but ask for Eva...

by jlynn2 at Citysearch

I am not normally a fan of the overpriced fu-fu type of places such as Mario's (is the complimentary lemon water the reason all of the services cost so much more?), but I found the best waxer in the world at Old Orchard Mario Tricoci. I really hate to pay Mario Tricoci prices, but Eva gives the best bikini wax ever. It's relatively painless and she is also a very nice person. She is easy to talk to and makes you feel comfortable while you are folded into a pretzel and she is ripping hair from your nether-regions.

  • Pros: great wax job
  • Cons: a bit pricey

waxing/facials

by kyasha at Citysearch

I go to Magdalena for waxing and Tracy for facials. They are amazing! Magdalena is very professional and delivers painless waxing, on any part of your body. Tracy tries her best to make you comfortable as she gives you a mini-massage during your facial. Brie listened and gave tips for a complimentary continental makeup. I felt no pressure to buy products, but I bought a cleanser and toner. They work wonders. I return to this spa again and again and do not regret it.

  • Pros: skilled estheticians, tips on plastic, friendly staff
