Dive Bar w/ Great Grub!. Ok, if you're looking for shabby chic or whatever the buzzword might be for neaveau cool this is not it. This is a true dive. That being said, I love it! The burgers are the best that I've found in Chicago and the atmosphere is dark, dank and beyond relaxed. There are always a few regulars around and the service is what you would expect at a dive, good when they're not out back taking a smoke break. If you're into good food and nostalgic old places I highly recommend Goldyburgers. If you're a snob, don't go.

Who Knows What Is Growing On The Tables. The worn conditions of the tables makes you wonder what is growing on them. Germs, sticky yucky. No professional server, just some guy from the back in an outdoor jacket probably because it was so cold in there.

The burger, I can make a better one at home easily. Badly charred on the outside and I ordered it medium. It was as dry as can be.

We ordered ice tea and were surprised when we asked for a refill we were told no refills. The small plastic glass for $2.25 was way over priced.

It is too bad we made a special trip for this alleged god burger and were greatly disappointed. Never again.

Nothing Fancy just a great local place. Goldy's is a simple place. Simple menu, simple decor, and simply the best burgers. This is a neighborhood place, not a corporate tavern, it is family owned and operated. The Royal Blue Burger is my favorite. The tasty beef, the crispy bacon, the smooth fresh blue cheese. It cannot be beat! The Zuccinni Fries are a must along with thier onion rings & cheese curds. If you go in looking for a great burger in a place that has been around since the 20's, Goldy's takes the prize. Love it!!

Not that great. I kept seeing all of these best burgers in Chicago lists and Goldy Burger was always near the top, so I had to try it. I went there mainly for the burger, not the atmosphere or to hang out and party. The burger seemed like something I would make at home for myself, there was nothing special about. Everything tasted like they just went to the local grocery store and bought ingredients for a basic hamburger. The bun was awful, I'm pretty sure it was a local store brand bun and it was very thin. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the bacon tasted like it was made a week prior. The bacon was so hard it poked through the thin bun and it was all I could do to tear it with my teeth. The hamburger patty itself was just a big ball of meat and yes it was round. There is no seasoning or anything special about it, just a ball of meat. This is pretty close to the worst burger I've had in the Chicago area and I could name 10 better burger places right off the top of my head.

Very Disappointed. After reading the reviews I decided to give the place a try. This was not close to one of the best burgers I have ever had. As a matter of fact, I make better burgers at home. The burgers weren't as big as expected and I was just plain disappointed. Even my son's grilled cheese sandwich wasn't actually grilled. The bread was put in a toaster, slapped with cheese and then microwaved. I was highly disappointed and would never go back again.

Great Burgers. I have been living in this area for years and it can be the best burger around. I would probably say I eat here about 10 times a year and I would say 8 out of 10 times they are the best. Problem being is sometimes they can overcook the burger. The most underrated item on the menu is the "CHEDDERBALLS" don't forget to order them or you'll miss out. It is kind of a dingy place but don't let that scare you if you are out for a great burger and great service.

They do have good burgers. My assessment is a local joint with some REALLY good burgers. Not in a sloppy, greasy, loaded with condiments and makes you weak in the knees good, but a very simple but tasty burger. The atmosphere is a bit on the dark side. The people we dealt with when we went were polite and attentative. The fries were nothing to speak about, and potato pancakes were basically frozen hash brown patties (but still good with the meal.) The variety of burgers and fried dishes definately will have me make repeat trips. Don't expect too much, other than a good burger and a place to hang out with your friends.

Below average!!!. Definitely not a top 10 burger joint. Cool old pub with good beer and ambience. The meat had no seasoning and no flavor. Can name many places with better burgers. Good place to go watch baseball and throw back some beers.

West suburban dive bar touted for its juicy, doggy bag-required burgers.. In Short
Don't be deterred by the restaurant's dark, smoky interior: The real magic happens in the kitchen. Namesake burgers are--without a doubt--where it's at. These half-pound mouthfuls are topped with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles and can be souped up with blue cheese or bacon. Feeling famished? Go for the Big Daddy, a 3/4-pound belly buster. Fried shrimp, brats and chicken sandwiches provide sustenance too, although few regulars give anything else the time of day.
