Great experience, absolutely incredible service
by ls37733
We went there for lunch, and had the most amazing service. Everything we wanted was attended to immediately.
The team of waiters were professional and very attentive. The manager (Paul) greeted us and made us feel very welcome. When we inquired about smoke salmon running out at the buffet, he not only went and brought more out to the buffet - but also personally brought us a plate of it to our table.
When we asked a waiter for some lamb, they went and got some lamb for us, and then it seemed like all the waiters knew we wanted lamb and wanted to take care of that need (someone came back later to ask if we got our lamb, then later another waiter came and offered us lamb chops even though our card was turned 'red').
It seems like any little thing you want is of the utmost importance to the manager and wait staff. Absolutely amazing service!
- Pros: Good food, star quality service
- Cons: Pricey
All you need is love (Fogo takes care of the rest)

I want to go across the street (Sports Authority) Buy a tent and live outside Fogo till they open!

- Pros: Everything is fantastic
- Cons: Little prizy
22 People and everybody was happy
by RockySF
Went to Fogo on Friday November 23rd. We had 22 people in our party and everybody had a wonderful time. The food was incredible. The Filet was fork tender. The lamb was perfectly prepared. The selection on the salad bar was immense. If you like to eat then Fogo is paradise. I think I tried every offering that came out of the kitchen and my only complaint was that the ribs were a little dry (but I am picky when it comes to ribs). Will be back. Even the children enjoyed it.
- Pros: Outstanding food and service
- Cons: very busy, crowded and noisy
best place to eat.

this is the best restaurant in Chicago. we go there every sunday and never had a bad meal. i only wish the price would be lower - but the price does worth the food.
- Pros: best food
- Cons: price
Price went up, but it's STILL the very best
by complexity0101
The prices have gone up to $32.50 for lunch (which includes the amazing salad bar), but this is STILL my absolute favorite restaurant, hands down! Many places raise their prices and drop their quality or serving size, not Fogo.
I brought my whole family when they were in from out of town, business partners, gone on dates here; it's very relaxing, comforting and the food is out of this world. Even the little Yorksire Puddings and side dishes that come with the meal are perfect! Ah- the garlic potatoes- okay, gotta relax before I have to go back tonight...!
If you want to really treat yourself or show off, this is the place to do it. If you're the type to be impressed by a $50. steak from Gibson's, you either don't know about this place or don't spend your dough wisely.
The service is marvelous, to boot. Even if you have a question about an unidentifiable "something" on the salad bar, ask. In my case, I was curious about the Palm Hearts. Not only was I told what they were by the manager, he brought me a print out of all the health benefits, caloric content, etc.! How can you beat that?
Granted, I haven't tried another restaurant like this one; why bother? I know I'm going to love it every time. Until that changes, I ADORE Fogo De Chao!
EAT AT FOGO!
- Pros: $33-53 for all you can eat Fillet Mignon, lamb, etc. IMMEDIATELY! Great ambiance & service, haven't seen ill-behaved kids there
- Cons: Parking, but Public Transportation is easily accessible via rtaChicago site. Not for kids who are not attended to when adults w/hot meat on giant skewers are delivering quickly.
Best Churrascaria

The best by far. Only go here. The salad bar is huge, everything is fresh and of high quality. Mojitos and caiparinas are very good. They keep bringing the food no matter what you do. This place is a yearly tradition for me.
Super disappointed- All quantity, no quality
by abbeyroad85
My boyfriend and I made reservations for our 4th anniversary for 7 p.m. The place was very busy, but by the time 7:40 rolled around we had still not been seated, so I sent the boyfriend up to get an update. The hostess looks at the sheet of paper and says "You're next" and offered no explanation or apology. I think they forgot us. But I was determined to brush this off and enjoy the occasion and the meal, but we really were both very disappointed.
The meat was not good. If I had been served any of them as a main course I would have sent them back. The lamb was cold and well done, the filet chewy and bland. We had a pork rib that was literally inedible, and the other pork we had, a Parmesan crusted piece, was equally disgusting. The only really good piece of meat I ate was the rib eye, and that had more to do with rib eye being a delicious piece of meat than anything else.
It was all quantity and no quality, like an incredibly expensive Old Country Buffet. I love quantity and I was really looking forward to a big meal, but I also expected the quality that $50/plate should provide.
I know of a lot of people who really liked this place, so I'm not sure if we had a random bad experience, or if they just like the fact that there's more meat than anyone could ever eat, but I won't be going back.
- Pros: Fast service, cool idea
- Cons: Very poor food quality, waiting 45 minutes to be seated with a reservation
Brazzaz is better! Definitely
by FoodLover1981
The environment and Staff are nice, but we go there for the food right? This was my 2nd time there and the entire visit all the meat that was served to me was either cold or pure salt. I couldn't believe it, Why does it have to be one or the other? We were there for over an hour and a half and all the meat was extremely cold like the kept walking around with it serving it all until it was gone. To be purely honest, if you're visiting Chicago, there is nothing better than Brazzaz. I've been to both and Brazzaz is much more consistent across the board, and the meat is dead on perfect EVERYTIME!...don't waste your money or time and go to Brazzaz instead. -TP
- Pros: Nice atmosphere, good staff
- Cons: Meat was low quality, cold, and too salty compared to Brazzaz
Amazing meat!
by brusselseu
I thought the beef was amazing, and the service was awesome. There was never a time when there wasn't fresh meat on my plate. It's a must for men who love grilling and lots of meat. chicagoweekendfun dot com
- Pros: Great Meat
- Cons: More than you can eat
as good as rio
by weiver
If you want to be transported to the excesses of meat and Brazil go to Fogo de Chao. It is the most reliable import since Gisele Bunchen. Succulent meat, great salad bar and gauchos. It is authentic and delivers both quantity and flavor. Don't go out ot eat, instead go to San Paulo or Rio (and you don't have to even worry about being kidnapped).
- Pros: flaming salty meat that tastes like meat
- Cons: none
