They've earned my loyalty, despite a cross-country move

I moved away from Chicago in 2002, but still go back a couple of times a year on business. And when I do, I stop in and have Joseph cut and/or color my hair.

If he showed up at my chair with a pair of hedge trimmers and an electric mixer, I'd let him go ahead, knowing he'd do a great job.

The Services
Two tidy, intimate rooms are devoted to facials, body wraps and massage. Spa-goers accustomed to luxurious surroundings may find this no-frills space a bit lean, but the price is right and technicians are highly capable and attentive. Though not listed on the spa menu, a variety of massages are offered to suit your needs and tension level; specifics are determined during a consultation with your massage therapist. Facial treatments are customized with a treatment mask that suits your skin type.

awesome salon

Joseph repaired a really bad haircut which had been virtually impossible by other salons, including the Bucktown salon that chopped my hair. My hair looks good, is manageable and versatile. I am an extremely happy customer. I can do so much more with it and am no longer feeling like I need a hat everytime I step outside of the house. So Joseph, you really rock and you deserve to truly be called a hairstylist. You are a genius at what you do!!!!!!!!!

I'm very picky about my hair. I get compliments at least once a month about my hair cut. Peter does an outstanding job with my color. I couldn't be happier. I travel all over the States and get stopped by strangers asking me where I get my hair done. Kudos to Joseph and Peter.

good haircut, bad policy

So I went into this place right by where I live to get my hair cut, im just a regular guy who is fine with regular hair cut, my hair is pretty easy to cut. So I went into this place expecting to drop around 40 which is about 10 more than i usually spend, turns out after i get my hair cut that they charged me an extra 10 dollars for a consultation fee!! A consultation fee for a stupid haircut?! There was no onsite visit at my house, no hair sampling or tests, it was total b.s. This is why i will not go back to this place and tell everyone i know to stay away. Id rather have my roomate cut my hair for free.

This Place is a Real Find!

I have stick straight, very thick, course hair - and as a result, have a hard time finding a hairdresser who can work with it.

I made the rounds - until I finally found Peter at Genacelli. My hair was "short" when I first went to him, and I wanted to grow it out. He's been able to work through all the awkward, "in between" stages. That in itself is amazing. By now, I'd usually have given up, and just had it "chopped off".

I also had my first facial at Genacelli. I'd heard that they can cause breakouts, but I haven't had that problem. On the contrary - the facials have helped correct my problems with oily skin and acne.

Needless to say - I definitely would recommend Genacelli to a friend!

I found Genacelli from citisearch, and I've been going there for over a year now. I really like the website - you can schedule appointments online and read about the services and stylists - which is a big plus for me. After going to more pretentious places like Art + Science and Mario Tricocci, Genacelli is a nice change. I love JOANIE for cut, color, and personality, but everyone on staff is friendly and fun to be around. If you're just trying to get a good cut and color, without all the attitude from so many other salons, try Genacelli!

Decent but Pricey

Genacelli has a nice clean environment. They accomodated me even though I arrived late. I had a decent cut, but I've had better cuts elsewhere. I'm not conviced that the cut was worth the price.

Best colorist and best stylist. Don't miss out. It's a real treat to have your hair done by Matthew. He's patient and meticulous for sure.

Great service and results every time

I have been going to Genacelli for over 2 years. After stuggling to find a salon whose stylists could work with my thick, yet fine hair I came across Genecelli through a friend. I have since referred several friends and co-workers there not only for hair servcices, but the spa as well. I also have taking part in the spa services and each time am impressed.
