Warm, welcoming bakery with glass counters full of sweets. We always end up buying 3 or 4 different things when we came in for 1 in particular.

Best dessert pies, cupcakes, cookies you name it anywhere in Chicago

Hands down best vanilla cupcakes anywhere in Chi town or all of U.S. for that matter. Pies are fantastic. Service is friendly and fast. I have hooked several of my friends on the tasty treats. Can't help but be in a a good mood while I'm there. Basically the best goodies ever!!!!

Overrated

I met some friends at Sweet Mandy B's for dessert. The location is good and parking was easy. After reading the reviews online I was excited to try it! I was completely under-whelmed. The inside was dingy and dumpy....needs a couple fresh coats of paint. The ambiance makes me wonder the level of cleanliness in the back. There was dried chocolate frosting smeared on our table and the back of the chairs felt crusty. On the upside, the dessert and coffee were good. Instead, I would recommend Bittersweet on Belmont. Much better dessert and decor!

Sweet Mandy B's is such a wonderful place, the service is AMAZING and all the people are so friendly and nice, I never have to wait and the food is so good. EVERYONE SHOULD GO TO SWEET MANDY B'S!!!!!

Favorite Bakery!

This place always perks me up! After a sub-par birthday dinning experience, we came here for the dessert. Once you step in this place, you feel like a kid again. This has the traditional bakery ambiance and charm. Pastel walls and glass cases full of indulgent treats. Personally I think the cookies are far better than the cupcakes, especially the molasses iced cookie...soft, moist and heavenly!

• Cons: can get crowded and they can run out of the best items

Horrible service. Totally overrated

Customer service is really poor. Twice I called to order a cake and noone ever called me back. Very disappointing. I wound up going to Bitter Sweet and I coudn't have been more pleased with their service and their delicious cake. In my opinion, Sweet Mandy B's is overrated.

Completely Over-rated

There were 2 HAIRS on my containers. The bathroom was a disgusting mess at 12 in the afternoon, on a Saturday, and the place overall was not clean. The service was rude and terrible. The Chocolate Flourless cake was INCREDIBLY SALTY, it was evident it was a screw up. Chocolate is not to be salty. It was so salty it made your mouth pucker. GROSS. Everything in that place was disgusting and completely overrated. I am an avid baker myself of old-fashioned desserts, and this by far is not it. Would never go back

Gotta try the lemon curd

Twice now I have had the yellow cake with lemon curd and buttercream frosting and it's truly amazing. People at both parties could not stop talking about it. DO NOT pass up Sweet Mandy B's when ordering your next special occasion cake.

Heaven on earth

Being a choc-a-holic finding this jem was like the light shining down from above and a choir singing "ahhhh". That's how much I love this place. By far the classic brownie is the best thing I have tasted (and I have tried almost everything), a close second is the peanut butter blonde brownie, oh my goodness. I would not, and it pains me to say this, reccomend the chocolate chip cookie. It is really the only down side I can think of. For whatever reason they over-bake the cookie. Everytime. Perhaps that is because of I am of the school, the mushier the better, but a crunchy cookie from a fresh bakery? I expected more! But the decor is absolutely adorable and makes me happy just to be inside for a snack whenever I can. I even ordered and bought my own birthday cake here (clearly I have an addiction). Other great items to try: classic cupcake, red velvet cupcake, and dirt cake (pudding?). If you ever want a sweet treat find your way here, one way or another. It is pretty much always busy here, whether its noon on a sat or 6pm on a tuesday, so expect to wait a little - the line moves very quickly though.
